Anyone have a soft spot for a game that is universally hated? I have fond memories of EWJ 3D I like the fast food levels they’re comfy the game really isn’t that bad if you take out the pork boarding boss battles

I got plenty of mileage out of this game. Something satisfying about the look/feel of it

>> No.9249927

I think the game is kinda neat, but yeah the pork boarding segments kill it for me. It's a shame because there's some cool shit there, the boomerang cleaver gun is rad.

This game really makes you feel like your controlling a bee. People hate the controls but I find them to be very intuitive. No other game feels like this game.

I thought this was the story of The Jimquisition. EWJ has a much more attractive body type and face, it would be a strech to get the two confused.

It was my first pc game it came with one of those magazines, I didnt even know what I was doing most of the time, I dont remember much, it must be a lot better to play with a gamepad, maybe someday I will try it on my n64 with the flaschcart

PC version cane later and is actually the "definitive" edition with improvements and added music.

>>9250104
Turok Evo was really fun for multiplayer. Doing 2 raptors vs 2 humans deathmatch on the treehouse level where the human players needed to leave the safety of the central structure to get weapons was always fun to play.

Yeah it’s supposed to be better on PC right? I used to own it with a watermelon red N64 I want to get those back but they’ve become so expensive I can’t believe this game costs so much now

I don't hate the first Bubsy game on SNES. The rest of the series is digital ipecac, but the first one is just another game I play from time to time.

I have a soft spot for mocking faggots that think a few zoomies parroting youtubers mean a game is universally hated. Does that count?
And I absolutely love a buttload of games that are "impossible" due to "artificial difficulty", "bad design" and other excuses.

I liked Bubsy 1 on the megadrive.
Yeah that fucker runs fast, but if you just tap the run button its fine.

Earthworm jim translates perfectly to 3D but they didn't know how to do that. Was making games that hard back in the day? A platformer game is pretty simple, you just need to setup player character physics values, hitboxes and maybe script a few things. It's insane how inefficient everything was back then

Mortal Kombat Armageddon is my favorite retro fighting game. I loved the campaign and the “create a fighter” and everything else about it.

Everything else I can think of isn’t retro

For me it's DK64. I think I love it for the reasons that other people hate it - it's the only 3D platformer that really challenges me or has any weight to it, every other game in the genre feels like it's over way too quickly. Then again, I'm not sure how hated that game really is outside of the more dedicated retro community. I'd reckon it's not as hated by casual fans.

>>9249963
I remember this one, too. Not the best game ever but certainly worth a rental. I'll say it's unique if nothing else.
