LttP was the true birth of comfy town RP

I remember after I beat the game as a kid I made a 2nd save file called "Home" where I got all the Pendants minus the last one just so I could get as many items ask I could without getting the Master Sword and ruining the comfy fog of the lost forest north of the town.

The guy under the bridge was my best friend just chilling, the witch was my grandma that I would visit once and awhile and I worked at the blacksmith using my sword to "poke" at the smelting process he was hammering at

I feel the same way, anon. Even today I love seeing huge maps of sprite based vidya worlds because it's just so cool to see the entire thing. I had a Pokémon Gold guidebook back in the day and loved how they had the map in the book, even if it was just routes seeing the whole thing was mind blowing to me.

I remember playing Link's Awakening as a kid and my version wouldn't save after you turned it off (you could hear the battery rattle around in the cartridge when you shook it) so I would try my hardest to get as far as possible but never knew what to do after the 2nd dungeon. Sometimes when starting again I would go to the library and just stare at the map the game had and just wonder what each location might have in it.

And now I can google it and attach the whole thing to my post and stare at it for as long as I want. A few years ago I actually calculated how much of the map I saw as a kid and I was surprised to learn I saw around 70% of it but it always felt like I barely saw any of it.

I might of been to drunk at the time and thought I saw it happen; But Could you link 4 Xboxes together and get 16 players together??

All I remember from that night that my fat friends girlfriend needed a raincoat to sleep in the same bed as him because he was sweating that much.

AoE2 has some incredible tactile quality to it, like you can really feel the materials and the textures, and combined with the OST it makes for one of the most amazing game experiences ever.

Anyone know games with aesthetics and locations like Wonder Project J2? That ocean vibe combined with a relatively modern tech yet still somehow subtly fantasy feel.

If they sucked it up and just packaged a single player version I'd buy it and play it again. The story is one of my favorites for JRPGs hands down. Legit sad that so many players still don't know the feel of running through Jugner or Valkrum. Or the first time you fly to Yuhtunga and actually flying there. Or the music starting as you zone in Xarcabard.

I've finished up to the end of Chains of Promathia and the story itself never really blew me away, but the writing is good quality and a lot of the characters are great.

For me it's the atmosphere, even compared to singleplayer games I think it has one of the strongest, comfiest atmospheres of any game ever made. Whenever I go back to it now I just get sad that the golden age of MMOs and the internet in general is over.

I always just wanted to chill with this guy. Look at him, living the life. Doesn't the music even turn quieter at this spot? The very fact that you could go "under" the bridge blew my mind when I was a kid. And then you found this, a haven of comfy.
Right beneath the centre of power in Hyrule, there is this guy, free, living his life according to nobody's law but his own. And then he hands you a bottle. What a champ.
>inb4 Dude that's just a hobo throwing a bottle at you lmao.
