have a strong itch to replay link to the past. problem with getting started is the bajillion amount of improvement hacks now out there. i see some that fuck with the gameplay, but i just want authenticity true to the japanese version regarding translation and lack of censorship. wut do?

You're really not missing much. ALttP is not that text-heavy as it is, so the bulk of the localization changes were made to the manual, and there's retranslations of that readily available on Zelda fansites. It's not like on the SNES Final Fantasy games where a bunch of shit was changed or censored all over. I think the only real censorship change was taking out crosses and shit.
