The rom has been "dumped", but it can't run on any GG emulators or the original hardware due to M2 shenanigans that try to prevent piracy.
Ironically, you can just use Ryujinx to play it or install the collection on a hacked Switch if you absolutely need it for free.

The game just isn't playable on actual Game Gear emulators yet. There's no actual patch for it yet and there's no ongoing work for it to work on OG hardware. Your best options are to either emulate the Switch or to get the collection on its respective platforms.

I'm not a fan of shmups as their gameplay is too basic and simple for me (coming from a hardcore srpg/rts background mind you). But I am enjoying making progress in Truxton 2 (actually the Japanese version). I made it to stage 2 boss so far and must admit while the gameplay is really simple you have to memorize so many tiny details and react so precisely it pays to just memorize all the enemy spawns and plan your movements ahead.

I definitely wouldn't recommend these games to casuals (they are too practice oriented) and not to hardcore competitive types either (they are too simple and there's no one playing them). But if you want a really bizarre and interesting experience try Tatsujin Out/Truxton 2, it might click with you.

just realised its been on my hdd for at least 15yrs, think i must have dismissed it as a jank rpg as it was named GUARDIAN, just tried it on my psp, its really good and fast paced for a nes game.

>>9214646
definitely underrated, not sure i can compare, both are great handhelds, the GG even more so for its time, tho the GBA falls short not having a backlit screen, and it still eats thru batteries like the GG, yet doesnt have a power adapter, i had to get a madcatz grip addon for that.

i think these 3 systems cover pretty much all the essentials, sega 8/16bit is what i grew up with, always induces nostalgia feels. like when i played sonic mania for the first time, it was like it was 1993 and i was 7yo again. also 30yrs on and i still dont have my Mega CD or Multimega, and with the current price rises i probably never will. fml

Pce/TG16 was only something i saw in magazines shame it never took off here, im just discovering how amazing a console it is. i'd like to get one eventually or a mini if it gets hacked.

PSX and PS2 has alot of good arcade collections, from namco, taito, capcom, irem, activision, midway. thats what ive been playing recently.

>>9215904

i found a dump of the 3 games in the collection, i saw someone had GGA3 partially running, and heard rumors it had been hacked but not released, i was hopeful someone had cracked it by now, i just tried the first 2 games quick on my psp no problems, the 3rd game black screen no boot, guess the switch version is my only option.

>>9216209
google. u can find screenshots of it partially running in an emulator, as for it being fully hacked someone on a forum claimed it had been hacked but prob wont be released while the collection is still for sale. i did rumor.

yeah i was disappointed with the recent deathsmiles I+II being DX11, i was hoping to play it on my old pc which runs all my old games. i think city connection failed with this, the original release of the first game ran under DX9, the second game playable on PC was the arcade release which would also run under DX9, now neither do.

love toaplan, slapfight is my favourite, recently been trying out arcade ports on the amstrad cpc/6128, slapfight is not great, the amstrad used the same cpu/sound chip as the arcade board which had 2 of each, someone recently remade slapfight as Alcon 2020, and with only 1 cpu and sound chip, they did a really good job of it.
