I own a Duo-R and honestly prefer the original. I always loved how the original PC Engine looked and love how it fits snugly in with the interface unit for the CD Rom. I also love the buttons and LCD display number on it all. It just looks really cool and "high tech" like turning it on requires you to press around 5 buttons or something.

The Duo-R by comparison just looks like a white PS3 in my eyes.

Is it the Duo-R or Duo-RX? The logo is on the upper left for the RX and centered at the front for the regular R (and it also determines what kind of default controller it comes with). It is still very beautiful in its "bubbly" appearance, since the weak portion of the regular Duo's design is the "cake edge" wave on the sides which reminds me of the bottom of a US SNES design. As for the original PC-Engine paired with a CD-ROM^2 in the Interface Unit, it is very Japanese in design, opposed to Western design in which having more than 2 fonts is a design faux pas with 3 acceptable in rare cases, the briefcase just blows that out the water with at least 6 different fonts on the system and still being appealing.

>>9142075
To be fair, the Twin Famicom systems are from Sharp and not Nintendo.

>>9143795
The US TurboDuo could be better if it were 2-tone as black-silver, but they went with black, blacker, and silver for a consistent western sensibility of design. I still play most of them when I have the time, maybe not the Twin Famicom since I don't have any disc games and I use a regular AV Fami more often. Lately been playing more Series X just to earn reward points.
