What are some examples of PC game console ports being the best version?

powerslave on console (playstation, saturn) is arguably a better game than the pc original.

in short: they put more content and the game got more polish on the consoles. the pc version is not bad by itself, but its pretty much an off the mill build engine shooter.

Starflight on the genesis is a bit more advanced than the PC version.

overall pcs at 1986 weren't nowhere near the 2D capabilities of the genesis, so they just "souped up" everything in the graphics.

I miss the days when consoles used to be a bit more sophisticated than "PC Lites." They used to be pieces of specifically engineered hardware that would be extremely difficult to replicate on anything else at the time.

It's hard to call it the "best" version because it doesn't have mouse support but Lemmings on SNES is an extremely good port with some extra levels not in the original.

Except for the video chip which used Sega arcade tech, and was responsible for... everything the system did minus the graphics.

This is one of the best PC Engine games I've played. PC autists that are used to zoom through the whole world map in 1/2 a second in dosbox will not like the slower pace of the port but I loved it.

I liked the Voiced lore Library. It went beyond the Tomes you could find within the dungeon and it set up a world and things that would be referenced way later either in Diablo 2 or even Diablo 3. Plus it had texts and voices in languages other than english. It just lacked in the controls and had obviously no bnet access, but local multiplayer makes kinda up for it.

Good port.

Its way better. The charming ass mayor dude is the shit and the soundtrack is top 10 all time.
