didn't make me cry, but had the potential to ruin my fucking day with how depressing some of the themes in it were.
I've played well over 100 games during my time on this shithole of a world, and I can list a few others but i'd rather not introduce redundancies for other anons who want to post.

> can't say i remember that giving me the feels

It certainly gave me plenty. I cried for the rest of evening, maybe even harder that I ever did in my life. I think it was a sudden tonal shift in the series, from comedy to bitter theme of saying farewell to the friend that just felt heavy. There were only few instances of media in my life which could make me that sad, and this one was certainly the most memorable.

I kinda wish for some vidya that can make me feel super emotional, but I haven't found one yet. Maybe Castle of Illusion counts, lol. Played it at someone's house when I was 7 and couldn't beat World 3, broke into tears and they switched it to Sonic 3.

Mother 3 reminds you of the simple fact that humans used to be happier by living in small communities close to nature. We are uprooted now, living a type of life that's in contradiction with how are hunter-gatherer psyches developed. People who see Mother 3 as a leftist critique of capitalism completely miss the point. Its message is philosophical, not political.

It is. I didn't expect to get attached to characters in a 30 year old Mecha TRPG, especially since FM1 doesn't seem to do characterization that well. But it does work really well as a package. Imo it does Gundam 08th ms better than Gundam did.

Wait 'til you play FM2. The game mechanics are more complicated but the story is great if you're looking for more of that "people dealing with the aftermath of war" feeling. Plus, there's an easter egg from 1 that hits hard

I can't say it made me cry, but the arcade ending to Double Dragon 2 was a real downer. Unlike the NES version, the final battle takes place against the shadow clones, I suppose representing the Lee's dark obsession with revenge. After you defeat them Marian is avenged, but still dead. No illusions, no angels bringing her back to life, just a picture from happier days...

Happened to like 3 other people to, didn't expect people to straight up die in an RPG.

For actual tears, I don't know but that scene in FF5, where Faris dragon saves your life, then she's screaming at the beach as it dies made me cry like a bitch, no clue why.

>Its message is philosophical, not political.
Let's cut the bullshit, here. It's both.
People focus on the political aspect because it's an obvious element for the story.
The thing people tend to overlook is the imbalance/alteration of nature or what is natural.
The death of Hinawa couldn't have been a more [in your face] example of that even with the event happening so early in the game with the Mecha-Drago - a cyborg of a Drago that's naturally a peaceful creature.
The closure of the game is that it's easier to rid a tyrant, but nature takes millennia to heal if ever. Been years since I played it, but I think the final sequence displays the world undergoing a great reset sort of deal.

This game drove me insane when I was 10. I felt possessed. I got so sick for days since I started playing it. I have to have a bucket near me to puke. My mother is very religious and allowed me stay up to beat the game. Once I beat the game immediately felt a lot better and started CRYING tears of joy like I killed Spider Mastermind in real life while We Are the Champions by Queen played in my head. My mother told me "see what you get playing these demonic games?" For years I stick with cute E rated games.
Years later I discovered I had a stomach virus from a undercooked turkey leg and Doom was giving me motion sickness the entire time. It was just a coincidence that my symptoms increased once I started Doom 2 and the gameplay was really that addicting. Demonic possession debunked and went back playing edgelord games while me and my mom recreate the ending of Harvester.

>The people there know thirst, hunger, disease. They suffer all these
things and in the end, they grow old and die. But for one brief moment, they shine as bright as the sun. Because they know these hardships, they also know the meaning of happiness. Compared to theirs our perfect world is cold and sterile.
