This fucking thing. I know it's possible to get this fucker to work on PC. I got the SCP driver tool; the install is all good on that end. But my pc doesn't recognize the actual controller. Coming back unrecognized. Can't find anything about it anywhere. Am I retarded?

Depending on the OS, don't you have to install the X360 controller driver as that's what the DS3 gets emulated as? I'm using a DS3 on PC and whenever I plug it in Windows thinks a X360 controller just got plugged in.

Tested on WinXP Mode VHD booted in VMware Player

Install prerequisites:
DirectX 9.0 - directx_Jun2010_redist.exe
MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable - vc2013redist_x86.exe
.NET Framework 4.0 - dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe

Run ScpDriver.exe, (un)check Force Install depending on the OS, then install

Install MS Xbox 360 Accessories (contains XBOX 360 For Windows driver) - Xbox360_32Eng.exe

Attach DS3 to a VM, calibrate in Control Panel

By the way DS3 has official PC drivers in PS Now
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Now

Too bad that the current installer doesn't support Windows 7 (let alone XP) and the older versions are nowhere to be found. Might be worth a try if you have a newer botnet.

You can use below. It's on the pcgamingwiki in a mega link. Works on win7
>Wireless Controller Driver - 'DUALSHOCK 3'-3.0.0.0

SCP is not recommended cause input lag, bad coding, and a bunch of other shit. Also hard to uninstall.

You can then run the game in Steam for XInput compatibility.

Also this is seemingly the most trustworthy link for the SDK driver, cause official links are dead.

I made it work, played Cuphead with it, but it's been a long time I can't remember anything.
Also anyone else have troubles with DS3? Mine doesn't work anymore, it charges the battery and all but when I turn it on, all buttons get pressed randomly so I can't do anything with it.

>>9046208
>Also anyone else have troubles with DS3?
Mine works fine. It just loses connection because the wired port is a piece of shit, so I have to use a rubber to avoid it going loose.

>> No.9046414

i used scp toolkit with a ds3 thru usb for bout 2yrs, and it works just fine, when u install it select force install driver, select ds3 controller and make sure its selected in the device list, the first time i installed it i had other usb shit plugged in, and my wireless mouse/kb was selected instead of the controller,

there were a few times when the ds3 wouldnt connect, if unplugging it and plugging back in doesnt fix it u may have to restart ur pc, if that doesnt fix it reinstall the driver.

when its working it works great, only reason i stopped using it was because my ds3 had drift on the left stick that was pissing me off , so i got a wired 360 pad.

>>9046414
There's noticeable input lag with SCP because it's a clusterfuck. It has to translate to XInput on the fly. Hogs an USB slot once installed, and isn't even a driver, it works as a windows service.
>there were a few times when the ds3 wouldnt connect, if unplugging it and plugging back in doesnt fix it u may have to restart ur pc
Yup, I remember this. This is because SCP is poorly coded. Just use the SDK driver. The only drawback is if the wired slot loses connection the game will have to be restarted. Kinda significant, I don't see a better option on Win7.

>> No.9047363

im using the DS3 with SCP right now. its been so long i forgot how i actually got it to work, but i do know that my PC recognizes it as an Xbox 360 controller.

my problem is trying to get the rumble effect to work in epsxe. i dont think it works the way it should..

>> No.9047451

Look up ViGem and Xoutput, way easier and more elegant than SCP by miles

>> No.9047508

DsHidMini is the way nowadays. Follow the guide properly and you'll even get pressure-sensitive buttons over Bluetooth in PCSX2.

That's win10 only but that site has some good evidence why SCP toolkit has a fuckton of clutter around it

There's like 20 steps to removing all the drivers and freeing up the bluetooth dongle slot

are you people retarded or something?
plug controller, install the toolkit, run the driver installation (desktop icon), select ps3 drivers, check if ps3 controller is detected by expanding the ps3 controller collum, click install, done, close and play
I bet you retards also hate retroarch "too complicated"

from what i remember SCP is no longer supported so i had to find the download link off of some random reply chain on Steam. that or it was because i dont use Win10, i forget which. Windows also doesnt recognize my ps3 controller, dont know why yours would. right now my computer sees it as an Xbox controller - dont remember how/why i did it that way either

How typical. This smells like the bullshit Sony pulled in connecting the PS Vita/TV to a PC. Retardedly complex compared to how the PSP was.
>boohoo we don't want people ripping our games!
Didn't matter in the end because the Vita got fucked by proprietary shit making it bomb vs. the PSP, the PSTV isn't even a decent emulation device.

PS3 controllers for my Vita TV and PS1 and PSP games. Those controllers will last for hours and work without a battery when wired.

>> No.9051854

This thread prompted me to dust off my DS3 and try it out on a few games (new and old) and man I had forgotten how sensitive the sticks are. One thing though is using the Dpad again is stirring some memories playing PS1 games (yeah I know the feel isn't quite the same as a PS1 controller but it is close enough) so a session of crash bandicoot is in order. For once /vr/ has been helpful.
