You might dislike the pasty upscaled backgrounds, though to be fair they did make them from comparatively higher resolution versions than featured in the original.
It's a "the frogurt is also cursed" sort of scenario.

The remaster is a rare example of it being done right. Mostly because they didn't really change anything, and you can turn off any of the suggested changes, including choosing the original soundtrack over the remade arranged version. But most importantly, you can save from the pause menu now.

Depends on how you feel about the upscaling for the most part. There's some minor censorship with certain characters too. Pick the original soundtrack if you do get it though, it was already Shimomura's best score.

The 4K resolution mode looks awesome, cannot believe how colorful and beatiful it looks on OLED. Perhaps the music is surround oriented? Is amazing.
