Any of you guys ever actually get to play on a real arcade cabinet? We had a place near us with a ToD one but they eventually closed down. Most of my experience with both of them was actually through emulation and the saturn port, which was Japanese only. And not mine. Not the hardest language barrier to overcome what with it being a beat em up and all but still. Never did see a Mystara cab in the wild. But four player ToD was a hoot.

I used to own a dual-screen one that I picked up from someone on Craig's List that found two machines in a storage unit auction (the other was a large screen VF3 cabinet). It was missing the game board, so I picked up a Korean version. It was great to play on. Never got four people together to try it but it is wonderful single player.

Unfortunately, the cabinet was in very bad shape and the particle board was falling apart in several places and one of the monitors didn't work. It was a pain to try to restore, and I didn't get very far.

I had to leave it and a few more machines behind when I sold my house and moved across the country. Feels bad because I know a lot more about restoring them now and could do a much better job.

whenever i hear people complain about the current state of DnD on /tg/ i always wonder how many of them actually play DnD and/or how many of them actually use the official modules outside of something like adventurer's league.

given the general homebrew nature of TTRPGs as a whole it's a relatively impossible thing to enforce new rulings on individual groups as most groups will likely just houserules or hombrew stuff in the end.

>> No.8962904

>>8962862
Well that's sort of the thing both ways, isn't it? On the one hand, yeah, nobody can make you play their way but at the same time nobody can make you play their way so why are they making such an effort to change shit in the first place? You're free to be as old or new school as you want but when they start making public statements about "How their really aren't evil races and c'mon can't we get along?" It really does just come off as off putting and self satisfactory so I think I'd just as soon play something else.

Thief in red. Backstab all day, most fun move in the game. I renamed her to an ex's name and it gives her the hood to start out at the beginning. The only thing which kills her requiring more credits is the random number generation for swinging the cursed sword enough times.

I don't play the first game as much, but I guess the elf just to ChunLi toe tap everything because the red clad thief was not in that game. Tons of fun playing on linked arcade cabinets with friends since they tend to opt for fighter, cleric, and wizard.
