That’s an interesting approach. I always did it this way:
Reach Gohma's chamber.
Before delivering the final blow, ensure that you have only half a heart left.
Deliver the final blow by standing close to her and using a jump slash into her.
If done correctly, this should cause you to die as Gohma is defeated.
Continue playing, and return to Gohma's chamber.
When in Gohma's empty chamber, perform the Ocarina Items trick with a bottled item, and backflip so you land just onto the edge of the blue warp area.
AS YOU LAND, pull out the "Ocarina" item, and hit B to cancel the item.
On a specific frame (requires estimation), open the door out of Gohma's room.
You should arrive as young Link at the Tower Collapse stage in Ganondorf's Tower.

A speedrunner would never have to fight Volvagia to begin with because they can glitch their way through content without having to do dungeons.

In the original version of the game crouch-stabs do the same amount of damage as the last non-crouch-stab to hit the enemy. So if you do a jumping slash with a deku stick, it's equivalent to a jumping slash with the master sword. Transfer that to immediately crouch-stabbing and you will melt any enemy as child Link

I figured this shit out when I was a kid and played this game for the first. Its amazing how many other video games I've played none will ever have that ethereal atmosphere of nostalgia that Ocarina of Time and to a lesser extent Majora's Mask has. Something inedescriable about it since It was one of the first new big games I played in life, even seeing Gohma there has me nostalging.
