It's fun and good. But I still don't like the robot sequence you have to do twice.

Fuck off zoomer.
You know what? Star Wars doesn't hold up. Shit's ancient, the picture quality is shit and the special effects downright garbage. Unwatchable in this day and age. It desperately needs a remake, several DLCs and achievements.

This past month I’ve been taking a deep dive into this game for the first time. It really is one of the best shooters ever made and really is on par with Perfect Dark and Goldeneye. The aiming is painful though and some of the challenges/arcade league missions are incredibly hard, which is refreshing. I’ve got maybe 50 out of 66 gold trophies but the last few are kicking my ass:

For those FPs fans that hold GE and PD in the highest esteem, it doesn’t get any better than this. One of the most high content, varied shooters ever made, and one of the best local multiplayer games of any generation.

Which is a huge shame because it's such a cool area.

>>8933173
I loved Timesplitters 2, but I honestly liked Future Perfect just a little bit more. TS2 feels more like Goldeneye/Perfect Dark for sure. I also had the first one, but for some reason I couldn't get into it as much. Am I right in remembering that it basically had no story?

Same question for Future Perfect

For TS2, all 3 versions equally as good. Xbox has slightly better visuals but they all have the same framerate, just comes down to which controller you prefer to use for aiming.
As for FP, Xbox has noticeably better visuals and framerate than ps2 this time around, but I still think the ps2 version looks good and the framerate is still solid where it counts which is more important. Only negative thing I can think of in the ps2 version is that your maps in mapmaker take up alot of space on your memory card, so if you were planning on making alot of your own maps it might be better to go for the xbox version.

Just like Goldeneye or Perfect Dark, these games were generic bargain bin shooters and they're only remembered because children/young teens had never played an fps before. May as well call Kingpin or Requiem an all time classic

No, it really doesn't. Mechanically and artistically, the game feels like a toy meant to entertain preteens. I know that's literally what it is, but that doesn't hold water once you age out of it. It's also not appreciable as art. It's just a product, a forgettable toy.

don't know what the fuck your smoking, some of the best memories i have of early-mid 2000s gaming are enjoying shooters on pc like half life and cs, and also having fun playing shooters on console like time splitters or pd. i definitely played half life/op for/blue shift first but some of the best memories of tht time are also splitscreen in 2, the map editor in future perfect. etc

tsfp wins hands down.

>refined humor
they went all out in this game, not just passive puns in text only application.
>refined gunplay + armory
the mag charger was the coolest while the injector was fucking hilarious in multiplayer.

seriously, the last 25 characters in ts2's gallery are pallette swaps ffs.
the mox's, too.

ts2's map maker is fucking egregious.

Absolutely, a significant jump from the original with an actual campaign and more polish, that first Dam level still wows me since it I love Goldeneye so much. The gameplay still feels solid and the multiplayer was super addicting to play, what isn't fun is trying to unlock everything. One of the final multiplayer maps is only unlocked after beating the hardest difficulty and it feels impossible to me, I get put in my place in Atom Smasher despite having beaten it awhile back, only to get stumped again at Aztec Ruins, I don't even want to think about the Robot Factory, that level is infamous in the regular campaign alone. Despite some sadistic level design, I still love the variety and quality of the levels, I also like the no frills approach to the main story premise and you're more so just taking in the other time periods as their own thing. I honestly go back to play the multiplayer with bots more than anything, it's the only game to really satisfy quality GE/PD sequel multiplayer that has tons of features like bots (sorry GE) and isn't a nightmare to play with performance issues (or has a shitty headache inducing ghosting filter every time a bot slaps you, yes I'm looking at you PD, fuck you Rare).
TSFP is the better game, but I def prefer the simplicity and direct approach of TS2, it definitely reminds me more of GE which is a good thing since I adore that game.
I also remember TSFP changing and removing some things that I wasn't particularly fond of but I don't remember so I might be over exaggerating.

>TS2 Hard Mode is Hard
it can be done, anon.
i replayed the game on the hardest difficulty with a spectator last year and managed to beat it again.
it's still a pain in the ass though, but nowhere near as obnoxious as the arcade challenges in that game. holy fucking hell.

PC shooters had no local multiplayer. These games never provided endless hours of good hangs with your buddies. This is why PC autists like this fellow have these opinions. Is pure bitterness and envy. There is so much content and variety packed into these 97-2004 console shooters that past and future generations could never match.

The Scrapyard song from TS2 goes hard. R-One-Oh-Seven is my favorite MP character. Loved golding the challenges/arcade missions. Refined objective based missions from GE/PD pedigree, so nice. Whole OST is a banger really. And you can always unwind a bit with the classic games (Anaconda, anyone?)
