so you can take the time to enjoy those sweet ambient tunes

This is why I don't like 64 as much as 1 and 2. Barons by themselves are as easy as imps.

imps take 5 rockets to the face?

I liked it.
Pain elementals and final boss are actually a threat.
Not a fan of the ambient music but I will take it.

I think it's awesome, but they never really used it. This was the final one.

I think 8 hours of play time is a pretty good length, especially for one as good as Doom 64. When I got back into playing it I forgot how good of a game it was and I was hooked all the way through. The only irk I have with it is the "what the fuck did that switch do" syndrome, but that can be seen as a positive since it makes you pay more attention to the environment and try to recognize what changed when you tread back through for the way forward. Also the final boss is literally impossible without cheesing if you don't have the upgraded unmaker.

What? It's easy as shit, man. Were you playing with a controller or something?

>> No.8930494

It's only a problem in the space station levels. Then later on you'll get more Caco's, Mancubi, and Arachnotrons. The weakest parts of Doom 64 are front loaded, because SSG'ing Barons and Hell Knights aren't fun in hallways. When you reach "Even Simpler" is when Doom 64 kicks off.
