Often mutually exclusive concepts, sir. Especially when it comes to games. Not trying to piss on your thread, but I'm not going to gather up my OMG RARE games just to show off. I got them through sheer LUCK and I didn't know they were rare when I got them. I just recommend that everybody gets savvy with flash carts and mod chips, so rare games can be enjoyed by EVERYONE.

A lot of my games are at my friend's house, so this is all I got to share for now. Also, yeah, like >>889028 said, rare does not always equal good. There's plenty of shitty games worth a ton of money, but only because they're collector's items.

I wish I still friggan had boxes to games. My mom threw mine out along with all my NES and SNES era manuals.

I just picked up Conker, F-Zero X and maybe three dozen NES/SNES/N64 manuals for $35 from my local thrift. Already owned a lot of the games they went with, and got a great quality Dragon Warrior booklet, complete with the info card, full map, and poster.

I don't know how rare any of my stuff is, but this is probably the most expensive thing I own, going by how much the cart goes for online. The only other "rare" thing I have is Pocky & Rocky 2, which doesn't actually belong to me.

My collection isn't impressive. I just collect games that I want to own or play, and have fun with it without worrying about rarity. I like looking at your collections with rare and cool games though. It's always fun to see that.

All of these people that have PDS make me wish it were a much better game. Or that quality effected value/rarity.

I feel the same whenever I see people with the Shining games or Magic Knight Rayearth for the Saturn. Heck, even Dragon Force isn't that good. Guardian Heroes, however, is a blast. The rest, only expensive because they are literally rare. Which is a shame, because it's a beginner's trap for collectors of that system. At least, the ones that want to play the games. I think the only game I've bought in here recently was Street Fighter II, but the rest I brought with me from childhood. I know I'm missing a couple SNES games that are in a box somewhere at my parents', which kills me because I know my copy of Mega Man X is in there. Can't place where I put my Pokemon Red and Silver, either.

I'm just getting into retro gaming (shame on me, I know), how am I doing so far? I'm visiting family in California currently, but back home I have some NES games, the only notable ones being Mario 2 and Double Dragon 2. I'm saving up for Earthbound and Chrono Trigger currently.

Again, paying more than the original retail price for a game is for suckers. Technology has advanced to the point where you don't have to pay the cost of one of your monthly utility bills for a single game if you don't feel like it.
