Would the game have made the movie any less of a flop. Would the game selfwarm? Would the game have sucked xenu ass? Would it only be on Nintendo 64, and/or on PS1? Who knows?

1.It would have Benn in more development hell than the movie that's for sure.
2.It would have been more expensive than the movie because Travolta would have done everything to make sure the novel was 100% adapted,

The licensing would have countless options for renewal.

The movie was bad but the book made it look like a masterpiece

Looks like there was an unreleased Battlefield Earth game for the Commodore 64 back in the 80s.

Depends on how much creative control the devs get.

Half-Life 2's plot is a bit like Battlefield Earth if Battlefield Earth wasn't totally retarded.

Featuring the same camera angles of the movie? It would have made Croc pale into comparison

This movie has been infamous bad-movie-kino for decades, and is very quotable for its corny lines and hammy deliveries.

I watched BE long before that when Rifftrax released a riff for it in like 2008.

Considering how strict The Church of Scientology is about accuracy to the source material, might as well make a Battlefield Earth visual novel, with dialogue lifted directly from the novel.

>> No.8899604

Well, Battlefield earth is as well written as a regular game story.

>> No.8900064

The plot concerns a man who uses a flight-simulation machine to learn how to defeat the alien colonisers. In other words, he saves humanity through the power of videogames. Travolta sent a videogame-positive message in the nineties, the decade when the world needed to hear it most. He spoke up for people like us. But you spit on him for his film, because it was less than perfect.

Could be a shameless Star Fox clone for PS1, where you play as Harrier Jump Jets, and tasked to shoot down Psychlo battlecraft and blow the dome.

I'm thinking N64 exclusive RTS, taking Starcraft 64's method, but rushed and sloppy. John Travolta on the cover but he's not in the game, completely different story. Developed by Saffire. 3/10's across the board. Not Superman 64 bad, more like an Independence Day PS1 bad. 20 years later have YouTube videos like "THE WORST N64 GAME YOU NEVER HEARD OF!" for normies or "The weird Battlefield Earth tie-in game" for the more midwit, uncreative, unambitious, all-consuming content crowd. Let's be glad it never happened.

Entirely depends is if it was a pre- or post- R.O.B. episode. Or as the basic rule goes, if he dressed up like a Psychlo and put his all into acting the character only to give that facade up once the badness of the game got to him, then yes.
