The kayak level was fucking garbage, can we agree on that? And of course the snowmobile was the peak of vehicular travel. Tr3 added poison, snakes, sprint and crawling. All of which are garbage. The graphics were better tho, I'll give you that. Especially level 1 and 2

Crawling is basically slow motion mode, why do you like it? And sprint is useless because it makes the controls even clunkier

TR2 was peak, especially with secrets. Every level had a gold, silver and jade statue so the secrets had a pattern to them. You'd see the glint of the item from far away then wonder how you're supposed to get there. In 1, 3 and 4 it was just a hidden door in the middle of nowhere with bullshit items you didn't even need cause you already had enough.

I ended all the games with 80-100 medkits (small + large). Also had like 2600 Uzi ammo in one of the games

TR games using enemies as traps just bothers the shit out of me honestly.
Like they want the reaction to be
>Oh I see you've placed dinosaurs/gunmen/yeti/ugly bastards with pipes in a spot that was out of view of the doorway, you tricked me by not giving me any other recourse than to be ambushed for the 50th time, game, good show, great trick

Being top tier puzzle platformers makes up for it but I've never found enemies increased the fun of the game even like a small handful of times.

The reason you get these stubs is because each level is completely separate from the next, even though they appear to be linked. The area past the door in Offshore Rig may be designed to look exactly like the one you will later visit in Diving Area, but they are still two entirely different levels. When you reach the end of a level, the next one loads and none of the areas from the previous level exist anymore.

Cope. You just suck at this game. I finished Tomb Raider 1 & 2 using only pistols. With the exception of Floating Islands, enemies are barely a threat in Tomb Raider 2 if you're skillful enough to position yourself quickly - in Tomb Raider 1 you are punished severely if you fuck up reaching for a safe position and are surrounded by enemies. I only remember 2 levels where human enemies were actually a threat, one being Fool's Gold (the whole level) and the other Tibetan Foothills (just the snow cabinet where you are ambushed by 3 or 4 guys out of nowhere packed with heavy weaponry).

Fabio: "Hey, it's just a gut feeling, that... maybe you are wrong to look

Marco Bartoli: *Punch* "Is your belief so fragile? Relax. Breathe deep. The gut,
Fabio, has no more direction than a simple 'through and out'. Honest perhaps,
but not enlightened. When my father left when I was a boy, he confided to me
that he was enlightened... beckoned by something greater than impulse. He
possessed the Seraph, but he was just a disciple in this design, his death
plotting a path to be sought by the one: his son. You understand? Have faith,

necessary evil, as my father was before me when he bombed Gianni's vessel deep
into these waters. Now I'm here — oh, was here — to prevent his son from
salvaging the Seraph."

Lara: "The Seraph?"

Brother Chen: "You not know my life's work well? You sure you not here for
them?"

Lara: "Their Jackanory days are well over."

Brother Chen: "They want the Seraph to unlock a malignant treasure we contain in
our monastery in Tibet. Since being stolen by imbecile vagabonds centuries ago,
we been without key to it. Relying solely on cleansing of our prayers to keep it
subdued. Then the occultist Gianni B. acquired it. Trouble we knew. He breathed
life back into ancient belief. One not to be stopped by any amount of head
bowing. And now again it is here. Marco, infected with madness. He has violent
mind but not yet the power to satiate it. So we reach for our weapons once
more."
