What are your favourite enemies in retro FPS? What are your least favourites? For me, I love DOOM's zombiemen and cacos and Duke's pigcops. Blood's cultists are super satisfying to kill too. Duke's my favourite retro FPS but I fucking hate battlelords and those screaming lizard alien things from Episode 4. I also hate pretty much the entirety of Shadow Warrior's roster.

I think because most mappers don't play a wide variety of games, so they have small reference pools for finding MIDIs. There's also an aversion to using actual songs as MIDIs as "too 90s".

That would make sense, I guess. Some people also just don't have a feel for music in things. There have been multiple times where I completely rework the soundtrack in a game with songs from other things and 100% of the time people think my songs fit better than the actual tracks.

I just... "feel it". I look at the entirety of the level/ area and I feel out what fits and what doesn't. I really can't explain it any better. It's like a 6th sense I get. I've only fucked up a song choice twice, both for NG2.
Here's my AA song replacement for example. I would spend a little bit in each level and then pick one that worked.

I do, but AA is the only thing I've replaced with Sonic music. For NG2 it was a variety of things, including Shinobi and Kunoichi. I've also used Castlevania music on occasion. I never wrote down my Sunlust soundtrack so that's kind of lost to time, but I recall there being some Katana Zero amidst the Ghostrunner.

Compared to Q2 it’s slower, the enemies take more hits to die, the areas you fight in are smaller and more repetitive, and it’s all topped with reload mechanics and squadmates that blocked me nearly every time I wanted to back up. Then I let one “take the lead” and found out they cause a game over when they die.
Horse shit game so far. Doom 3 didn’t hold up so well either and FEAR could only go so far before I got bored of fighting the same enemies. What I need to check out next are the Riddick games and Prey.

An empty room with a giant Pig Cop made out of lightning effects. Blood splat decals work but have messed up transparency because of the nature of what they're sticking to. Its tighter feeling than SOF1, SIn\Kingpin etc, it seem to have fun structure and cool features that the actual Forever ruined. And it feels almost finished, the game almost plays out in my head as a more fun shooting deus ex with tits and aliens.

Seems like they wanted to use mocap as a selling point, it's mentioned in the .nfo as

I can’t help you easily because I use a mouse with additional buttons to assist. At the least I recommend you find two different functions for mousewheel up and down that’s not scrolling through all your weapons, I personally have mine set to the shotgun and plasma rifle slots.
Function keys are things I end up doing the least; dumping all unnecessary ammo, taking off armor, bandage hotkey, things like these are F1 through F4. I also always have my “inventory cycle and use” keys to be Z, X and C for any similiar shooter with an inventory.

I actually don’t mess with the zoom as much as I should, although that fine-tuned aim as helped me in a few long range shootouts. But for leaning it’s Q and E, a standard bind setup I use in other games that have the function. I have it so the sights and scopes only appear when I’m slow or still, but I also have the laser sight module provided from the Ugly as Sin mod. If I didn’t have that addon mod I’d have the sight appear all the time with only the scope showing up when I’m still.

Here's this "HypoSpray Gun" with 3 different things you can shoot yourself up with. Health just gives you health, Steroids seems to give you a bit more but then drains it away with a red screen + heartbeat sound, and Antidote removes that draining effect. In the context of the rest of the game, I don't know what the latter two would've done. Steroids don't seem to make you faster like in D3D, Antidotes probably would counteract some enemy attacks.

I'll tell you what I told someone this morning.
First off, the only archive you need to extract is the "part one" archive inside the main one you downloaded. Extracting those other parts will cause issues.
After you extract that, go into Patches and drag the contents of Megapath and the Wrapper into the October 26 folder. Press yes to any file replacements your computer might tell you about.
That should work, at the very least it worked on my machine. No need to mess around with compatibility issues. From there you can use the console by pressing tab/f12 to set your resolution or FOV, but for gameplay purposes, you only need to know
god = invincibile
ghost = noclip
fly = noclip (no phasing through walls)
summon [x] (x being m16, shotgun, rpg, etc) = create an object
allammo = gives you every weapon
