Sure as fuck wasn't that hideous VCR remote control thing in op's picture.

Seriously?? I have to press a different button to diagonal jump??

Not to mention the big chunky plastic borders between each of the buttons, meaning it's virtually impossible to slide ones thumb from one button to another.

One of the worst controllers of all time IMO

Now, the Super Nintendo Dogbone controller? That's perfection right there. And the creators of the 8bitdo SN30 Pro know this, which is why they remade the controller with modern bluetooth, vibration and gyros for a perfect modern yet retro controller. Worth every penny imo. Might even buy multiple down the line once I have more money. They come in all kinds of colors, with optional boomerang grips incase you're a faggot pleb who needs something to grip onto with their weak pasty white millenial hands. But this is not the true way to experience this controller.

I noticed in games like megaman X for example where button mashing is critical that I mash buttons faster and more effectively without the boomerang grips. I can't really explain it better then that. I just look down my nose upon the boomerang grip community. Fuck those guys.

Anyway, the coleco television remote was one of the most ungainly, god awful, hideous controllers ever designed. I'm convinced it was not designed for human hands, but for the hands of interdimensional space monsters. Surely only a tentacled eldritch horror could find this controller pleasing to any of the senses. It is a horrifying contraption of disappointment and pain.

Rescue at Gargamels Castle was one of the worst videogames I've ever played in my entire life. And I'm old enough to remember my first Atari system. It takes the cake on shitty controllers imo

there truly is no "best" controller
each has their strengths and weaknesses

my top picks:
virtual boy (dual d-pad)
dual 5200 sticks for robotron
colecovision roller controller trackball
(this works on all 2600 titles as well as the godtier slither port)

obvious choices:
saturn pad & saturn 3D pad
turbo duo (with sliders)
any sanwa arcade stick

I was amazed by how good the Wii classic controller was for 2D games a couple weeks ago. Too bad you can't simply plug it in your PC because of all that WiiMote extension nonsense. They could've just made a wired controller but nooo, use it with your WiiMote and let it eat your batteries.
Anyways I'd use it for 2D games and Dualshock 4 for 3D

Haha yes anon, it's like the nunchuck, look at pic related. If you want to use an actual wired controller with that doesn't require batteries you have to buy the Gamecube one.
And no you don't need the zapper or motion plus, only the regular wiimote

umm wow. that sucks
Im getting it so that I can play kirby's amazing yarn. and also I want to get into rail shooters, cuz the light guns on NES and SNES have lost the shine for me..

I have a big feeling wii stuff will maybe be hard to get in the coming years.

i dont understand the obsession with these
its not that much better than a normal controller
i like the idea of customizable stick-height but realistically most hands (unless abnormally large/small) do best with the standard size

the bowl dpad was basically unusable for cuphead and high-precision type shit-
so what gives?

im an oldfag so the xbox "colors" that pop up on screen for quicktime events basically always killed me because i lacked the muscle memory/familiarity -- many of the "elite" controllers lack the color identifiers for the facebuttons kek

not very elite
the back click triggers that are customizable should be standard on all xbone shit though

I've found a real appreciation for the PS1 digital controller. Just a simple controller with no clutter, and a real sturdy lightweight build. I always like controllers that are light but without feeling cheap.

You can adjust the stiffness of the analogue sticks, SX Standard, 360 , and really fking stiff .

It's all magnetic, Don't like the bowl use the classic D pad works great.

I removed the back triggers, I don't need them.

The long stick is for flight sims.

It's a really fking good pad.
