Speaking of broken items, I used to fully stock on Kiai scrolls on the third level of NES TMNT so the rest of the game became a cakewalk; it's actually pretty easy and just takes around 20 min

Pic related was so ridiculously OP it made all the other weapons feel like playing on hard mode. Konami finally caught on and nerfed it considerably from Contra 3 onward.

Fun fact: you don't really need to do that, the single shurikens are just as powerful as the scrolls, the scrolls only have bigger range.

The single shurikens are actually pretty great, the real shitty weapon that you shouldn't use are the triple shurikens.

Once you learned how to consistently perform the "power" moves(spin kick, uppercut, flying knee) all the other attacks seemed weak and pointless.

I remember an old gamefaqs guide that stated the scroll is the most powerful weapon against enemies that actually take more than one hit to destroy (aside from their massive hitbox), but I'd say the main point is that you can farm scrolls pretty easily

Unironically one of the best items in the entire series. It's KISS personified (itemified?), and I'm still mad it never escaped the NES.

When playing Rockman I never used other powers, I never felt they did damage to bosses

Good taste. I've seen some Zelda Classic quests that upgrade the ladder and allow you to walk in any direction when you're on it, giving you an even greater range of movement.

mega man weapons are iconic and creative but their damage output against bosses is fucked up and retarded and makes the games worse for it.

I could see it making an appearance again as sort of a joke item, maybe used in the plot once or twice before it gets pass on as one of those trading sequence things.
