97.69.221.186:11753
Version: Latest Stable

How this works is that every weekend, I host up a map, and we play until Monday, or until the map is full. Then we switch to a new map. New /vr/ct maps take priority, so post what you make in the thread and we can give it a whirl.

This weekend we're starting with Elwynn Forest.

I know they were outsourced but why do the expansion scenarios suck so hard? Rollercoaster Heaven's probably one of the worst offenders.

>length requirement leads to helixspam
>redwoods everywhere
>you can't delete redwoods by building in vanilla, and scenery clearer doesn't work on them without openrct2 either so you need to right click every single one

Most mods are either custom scenery, custom scenarios or ride saves. And even then, you'll need someone to give you pointers to the correct download pages because the custom content databases are usually very non-descriptive and nebulous to what they're offering and how to use the mods.

OpenRCT2 doesn't have a huge modding community, btw.
That's primarily due to
1) Its popuarlity (or lack therof), Parkitect and Planet Coaster acted like sponges to the builder autists, not to mention that Parkitect is easier to mod by virtue of being made with Unity.
2) RCT2 with all its expansions actually has tons of ride and car varieties. The Twister thrill ride has like 11 variations, for instance.

You can still do crazy-looking shit in OpenRCT2 using its relatively simple debug tools.
Deurklink makes good tutorials, and this one in particular condenses a lot about it nicely in the context of go-karts:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b8uPhafR-I

Deurklink also has a lot of contests that may give you ideas for your own parks or rides.

It's really hard to determine if the challenge of a scenario was intended to teach you to fix shitty things, because sometimes it is, or if they were park flavor that they didn't know was garbo. Does anyone make rules for themselves like never scrapping rides? Do you enjoy it more if you don't fix bad things about parks' starting arrangements and just work around it all?
