A combination of patience, vigorous scouring with paper towels + rubbing alcohol, rubbing the pad of your thumb on the marks, scraping your thumbnail on the marks, and scrubbing with the inside of an ordinary dry t-shirt will eventually remove all that marker shit completely. I've fixed up at least half a dozen games this way. It does take patience, but it's quite possible.

>Barq's Red Cream Soda

DAMNIT, I WANT SOME. FUCKWORD, IT IS FOR SALE NOWHERE NEAR ME.

Anyway, maybe pick off some of the pink crap and burn it. The color of the flame can help tell you what's in it, and may help divine a method of dissolving it without destroying the game. Kind of a poor-man's, poor-man's mass spectrometer.

Yeah, Stewart's Orange Cream Soda is amaaaaaaaazing. Jones Soda makes some perfect cream soda of their own, since they use SUGAR instead of Horrible Fucking Corn Slime.

I ordered a green NES pak for my Everdrive, which is currently in fucked-up Lifeforce case. I think I will make up a new label for it and title it Doc Robot or something. You know, from Mega Man 3, as Doc Robot was a body that could "play" the "ROMs" of Mega Man 2's robot masters.

I've got a weird one for you. I found this blank black N64 cart at goodwill for 2 bucks. I have photographed it here next to the only other black cart I know of which is the Turok 2 cart.

What is strange about this mystery black cartridge is that is doesn't work, but has some noticeable corrosion on the contact surfaces and the two screws. Also there is zero adhesive residue from either label sides and the grain, for lack of a better word, looks smaller on this game than on turok.

Any recommendations on how I should polish the contacts for this mystery cartridge?

I had gotten a free copy of Super Mario Bros/Dunk Hunt with my spare second hand NES for free. Can you tell which copy I got for free? I don't know what the fuck happened to it, looks like it was label side down in some coffee spill and then ripped off a table surface weeks later. Disgusting. I have a slightly amusing story that's not very /vr/ relate,d but it's thread related so whatever:
>at LCS, only store in town that sells used games for virtually every console you can think of
>find Ultimate Spider-Man for Gamecube for $4
>decide to get it
>guy sees me buying it
>"You know it's interesting, that's one of the first Marvle games to cross over with other characters, like Wolverine is in it and stuff."
>owner comes back with the disc, takes the time to look at the back of it
>"You know it's funny you should mention Wolverine, it looks like he got a hold of this thing"
>it's scratched to hell
>far more scratched then any disc has any right to be without it delving into "You are a dick who did this on purpose"
>buy it anyway because $4 and I like to gamble
>it works fine despite the damage
I also found a copy of Mario Kart Double Dash! there that looked like a fucking cat used it as a scratching post. I didn't get that one.

These guys usually sell pretty good stuff, though. Got Wario World for ten bucks with manual and it still had the damn Nintendo Power/Club Nintendo advert in it.
