I get my files elsewhere but it feels good knowing sites like this are still out there. Reminds me of the old internet days before big tech took over everything.

While we're on the topic of emulation. I've got Retroarch, it's been great so far, for everything really. But PS1 games, I'm running the core Beetle PSX. But it won't load any games, all my files are Disc Image Files, but it fails to load. Any ideas?

A modest 5th gen collection will easily fill a 2TB hard drive. It's not like that's crazy expensive ($60?) but it's definitely very retarded to buy one and spend all the bandwidth required to download it just to store a collection from which you'll never play more than a tiny handful of games.

Retro ROMs will never go away. The only real issue is gen 6 and up, that's when complete ROM sets get into multiple terabytes. As an example, a total set size for PS1 is 3.722 TB, while PS2 is 17.741 TB and PS3 is 16.818 TB. Keeping that around would require hassle.

Let's consider pointless bandwidth being a probable cause for removal.
Most people looking for ROMs likely already played them decades ago and know what to expect.
It ain't Emuparadise where it was known by virtually everybody at one point, and they recuperated bandwidth costs with ad revenue (I'm assuming).
