Only Craigslist experience I have is trying to sell a PS3 and getting literally nothing but black dudes calling at 2 AM, trying to get me to go downtown right them and meet them in dark parking lots and behind liquor stores. I shit you not, every call wanted me to head to a shitty area in the ghetto past midnight. Whenever I told them I wanted to meet them in a public place during the day time (like inside the mall at the food court) they would get off the phone as quickly as they could.

I wasn't even mad about it. It was just hilarious that they would be so blatant.

We got a real winner here, folks.

All those games are great, and despite the condition (and objectively the worst SNES design ever), I'd consider $30, maybe $40 if it wasn't missing the hookups. But $80 without cables? Naw, fuck you.

Well, they were on here:

But they got deleted.

Basically in order to make something small, some end up cutting the PCB to slim it down, usually removing 'non-crucial' components. As you might imagine, removing portions of the PCB isn't exactly healthy.

The gray Zelda cart actually came second; it was the Classic Series reissue. It *is* rarer than the gold cart, but it's still not worth very much since people generally prefer the gold cart, and there are literally millions of copies of LoZ floating around.

spoilering for non-retro, but I wanted to ask about this anyhow
I have been looking at wiis with intention to maybe buy for the reasons many here would buy one and I have seen a trend on my area's craigslist that baffles me. The normal white Wiis go for around 40 - 50 dollars, 60 - 80 with a bunch of games. Yet people are trying to sell the black ones for like $200 - $300. What is up with this? Are they actually rarer than the white ones?.. and even if they are, I can't imagine it would command such a high price. I don't plan on buying one of the black ones, in fact I like the way the white ones look better. But still, is there a logical explination for this thread or just stupid craigslisters thinking that since it's "different" it must be worth more?

Reminds me of when a rottweiler followed my mom into a doctor's office many years ago. We tried to find her owner by putting an ad in the paper. But everyone that called was just looking for a free rottweiler. Basically a bunch of ghetto guys who didn't even know whether the dog was male or female (we didn't give that out in the ad) and didn't know how old the dog was (about 6 months). All kinds of weirdos wanted us to drop her off in their garages or backyards. So we ended up keeping her.

Anyway, I've never bought anything off of Craig's List. I've used Amazon plenty of times and Ebay once. It's always funny when I see game stuff that's in bad condition or missing components being sold for way more than complete items in good condition.

Having loose Sega CD games will put a bottomless hole in your heart. You will never be able to acquire loose inserts and manuals through anything but sheer luck, and Sega CD cases are as sturdy and common as unicorn farts.

Thank fuck for the Cover Project.

Being able to put my Sega CD, Saturn, and 3DO games in clear DVD cases is a very nice substitute.

Yeah, it's natural. On any board, when an interesting thread comes along, it's easy to bend the rules a bit and try to shoehorn something else in that isn't really on-topic. But since we are a slow board with high retention, it becomes noticeable very easily.

Honestly, I don't mind those posts at all, except I fear for what would happen to /vr/ if everyone just chose to forget that it was retro only.

I don't think those posts are any sort of indicator of what /vr/ is becoming, I think it's just a bit of silly fun... it's really the things like the metroid threads where it quickly becomes a conversation about the modern metroid games and the threads where people are like "all modern games suck, lets talk about modern games and how much they suck unlike the olden days" that bother me... and for a bit it did seem like the mindset of the later example was taking over the board, you even had some people that start to think that was what the board was for.

>> No.899206

I agree completely. /vr/ is a board with a retro focus, not an anti-modern bias.

The most disturbing thing I've seen is threads breaking down into ageism debates. Let's face it, there are no upper age restrictions to 4chan, so in a board about retro video games there will be older contributors. And on a website with such a young focus, there will be people for whom retro games are a brand new experience from beyond their actual years.

I'm also in Ypsi. More like how about Get Your Game On in downtown Ann Arbor. That place is so shitty. Decent selection if you're into NES/SNES/Genesis and has some boxed N64 games but everything in the display case is way overpriced due to "Ebay prices". Actually, everything is fucking overpriced. Even the games that should be ~$1-$2.50 are $5 or more. When I lived in Toledo I could buy NES games for a dollar, and another store had even better deals.
