What’s a good game to play before you go to sleep for the night?

Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, and any of the silent hill games put me to sleep

I’ve listened to silent hill music so much to sleep to, I’ve ruined the games for myself. They are now sleep games.

Digital screens fuck your circadian rhythm.
You're better off listening to a slow podcast playlist about gaming news or whatever.

None of them in my experience. I find that playing a game near bed time is a surefire way to stay up longer than I planned to.
Also, don't listen to the podcast poster. Gross!

A really boring JRPG works great as a sleep aid

AVGN, Game Sack and Brutalmoose videos works well for me since I have watched all the videos from those channels multiple times.

I can attest to that.

Anything with a lot of reading used to put me to sleep. JRPGs, VNs, etc. Especially on handheld while laying in bed. As long as I had the brightness turned all the way down it never affected me.

Not retro but playing 999 and Virtue's Last Reward a few months ago made me really sleepy. Good series though.

The Kirby games are nice for that. I played through Dream Land 1 & 2 in bed recently.
Ace Attorney too if that counts.

I would suggest a puzzle game like The Witness.

Just played SaGa 1 for the first time for 2 hours(wonderswan) and watched like 8 eps of Android Saga of DBZ and now capping it off with a little /vr/ browsing(latter 2 turning brightness down and f.lux up over time). Pretty comfy mindstate.

Puzzle games like Panel de Pon or Puyo Puyo are my lullaby.

puyo keeps me up. It's one of the few games I've tried to do this with, but the intensity of trying to beat a stage always gets me staying awake.

Unfortunately Animal Crossing is kind of annoying to play at certain hours because of the time system, that is, unless you don't care about inputting your own time whenever
>>8846398
Due to my job and my hobbies, I'm on a screen 24/7... But oddly enough, I can sleep just fine after browsing a bit on the phone before sleeping
Is there such interesting podcast around?

Podcasts are mainly just faggots who like to hear themselves talk repeating information that would be much better consumed in article form.

This is why I usually only play my Gameboy or Tiger LCD games before bed

>> No.8848714

I always like playing pokemon games in bed. They require enough attention to keep me from getting bored trying to sleep, but are also brain dead retarded so that I'm not focusing hard enough on a game to keep me awake.

Almost every time I play a pokemon game my playtime is always maxed at like 255 hours because I'll just fall asleep with the game running.

While too much action would obviously keep you awake, could too much thinking also be bad for going to sleep rather than just making you suck at the game you're playing? I've never tried going to sleep while playing games before, but it seems like it could be comfy.
