My graphics card hates it's shadows for some reason that I can't solve. Pity because I really enjoyed it as somebody that doesn't usually like zelda-style games. Also liked Okam.

Zelda never did anything for me. Not for somebody already familiar with ultima and the like when I didn't think it was just something my older cousins played on NES. Did not go into it expecting a typical Star Fox game, the cover did not indicate that.

OP update. One thing I don't like is that Peppy and Slippy's voices sound nothing like the N64 versions. Not sure if this is a real complaint, but I don't like it as much.

The combat is the same the entire game, and there are like 3-4diffrent enemies. Andross comes out of nowhere and cucks the final boss and you dont even get to fight Genreal Scales. Dungeons dont get any more creative apart from few, 1-2 specif parts, its more of the same.

tl;dr its good initially but it gets stale, there is little progression in anything. What you said are the highlights of the game, its beautiful with good atmosphere, and the soundtrack is awesome, but the rest is not.

Like half the game was gutted because they had to both convert it into a Star Fox game and port it to GameCube, plus Microsoft bought them, so Rare had to get it out the door without much time to rewrite the plot and actually finish the original map.

not that anon, but the game made a point out of showing fox not being able to understand the locals yet once the translator was made that whole thing was dropped. i think it's supposed to be a case where we assume fox and the dinos are speaking the dino language while we're just hearing it in english, but it was handled somewhat awkwardly. it was also a little jarring, but funny, to hear the characters speaking the dino language and suddenly say names and places in perfect british english

I think you can make the case that in real-life certain names/titles actually are different languages sometimes, if you really wanted to justify this choice. Plus it obviously has the storytelling purpose of emphasizing key names. If it was up to me, I'm not sure what I would go with for the final version. In the N64 Dinosaur Planet, they just spoke English without any fantasy language at all.

The final boss stuff didn't bother me desu.
I found the world to be underwhelming after all. All these biomes and levels seemed so mysterious, interesting, big and full of content at first glance. Then I realised that they weren't that big and that there wasn't a lot to do after all, no real sidequests etc.
They should have spent another 6 months on that and include some upgrades, items and better fighting abilities.

I'm playing it on my modded Wii and it's working fine, I had issues with Metroid Prime though, sometimes screen turns black and the game freezes, no issues with other games so far
