A lot of retrofags prefer to import a SFC over using a SNES and if you did so you'd notice right away it's a lot better-built. The shell is made of thicker-gauge plastic that's not prone to yellowing and it has an additional filter cap left off SNES PCBs so doesn't have so many issues with CPU failure.

tl;dr we got the short end of the stick because fukka u gaijin

The C17 cap. This is usually absent from US models.

I'm not so sure that they're built better, but I do prefer the way they look and the texture of the plastic to the American SNES. I've really enjoyed mine a lot since importing it.

If I had ever seen one of these as a kid, I would have been pissed at how we got screwed on the button alone. Am I correct to assume flash carts work on these?

that's nothing more than compulsive lying. i own both. they are built the same way.
> that's not prone to yellowing
all prone to yellowing
> and it has an additional filter cap left off SNES PCBs so doesn't have so many issues with CPU failure.
i'm not sure what you delusional child sex offenders do to your consoles but i have never had a cpu failure on any snes. your claims are hilarious. only benefit to owning a NTSC machine is for certain games that don't have proper PAL releases. that's it. there's no other benefit.

One problem with the SFC is that putting in USA carts requires a lot more work than vice versa. Need to either cut a lot of plastic, get an adapter or just take the top entirely off.

Some SNES shells were made with a bad batch of plastic. They don't all have this issue, though.

Macs made from 1994 to 2001 have the very worst plastic of all. It literally crumbles into dust in your hands.

UV rays are bad for ABS plastic to begin with but the bromine mixed in with it as flame retardant made it more fragile than it would normally be. You can get new Amiga shells now because the original ones hold up so poorly.

There's no consistency in the plastic used through the manafacturing run of the SNES. You'll find models with different levels of yellowing on the same unit, albeit different pieces.

of course then again the Famicom was RF-only and didn't even have detachable controllers. the quality of cartridges was also a lot more variable and they were sealed shut and hard to open (no screws used like NES carts).

Japanese one better just because it has colored buttons.
In DQV there's a slime that says something like "if you press the blue button you can check stuff and talk with people instead of using the menu"
Since slimes are blue what he says is pure soul, something that can't be done on the gray and boring US controller.
