Star Fox, objectively. You can play solo or with friends, and mastering the levels and gaining all the medals offers a very high skill ceiling. Also, the music and voice acting are just so enjoyable.

I haven't played every game but I have had my hand in playing 1/3rd of the US library and some Japanese releases and out of all the games I've played, Sin & Punishment is one of my favorite games on the console hands down.
Short and sweet, that's what makes it fun to come back to because I can do 3 or so playthroughs in a sitting if I wanted.
Goldeneye is another I come back to often but as much as I love it, I feel it misleading to tell people it warrants the hype depending on where you're coming from because performance is pretty ass and gameplay will stump people who aren't comfortable with FPS games on the N64, but god damn I can't help rushing through the agent campaign over and over every so often.

Single player or multiplayer?

If single player I think I sank the most hours in Perfect Dark and Super Mario 64, incredibly replayable games.

If multiplayer I would have to go with Suoer Smash Bros and Conkers Bad Fur Day, those games you can play literally forever with your friends.

Most runs are pretty short and the branching paths add a lot of replayability + tight controls outside the submarine level.
Other candidates are OOT/MM with a randomizer but are of course mods not the game proper.

I didnt want to start a thread and kill one - I just want some help - does anyone have a hookup to pre-patched N64 Roms? I specifically would like to play the Optimized SM64, the SM64 Kaze Rom Hacks for Last Impact, Star Road and SM64 Land.

That would be amazing if an Anon knew where to get the patched versions. I dont want to dick around with patching myself, its been telling me that I have invalid rom to patch.

One of my favorite games. A friend of mine had a Japanese wrestling game with the same style and controls as WCW but I cant remember what the cartridge looked like or the name of the game. It had alot more wrestlers and it was just as fun.
