What a waste of an opener for a topic about a really cool game. I haven't found vertical combat quite as engaging with many other games that feature jetpacks. Can anyone think of one?

Zone of the Enders of course. Also, maybe you will like P.N.03 on the Gamecube, but that is more like a engaging tech demo than a full blown videogame, but the combat is fun if you are not afraid of getting hit.

I don't know what you mean. The game makes heavy use of L3 and the right analog stick.

Yeahhhh that's obviously not what they had in mind either.

Wikipedia says they were originally intending on a controller+light gun setup on Dreamcast. But whatever the case was, the final game is based entirely around the dual analog sticks.

i played this on a kiosk at a store and it was fun for 5 minutes, later bought it for like $20 and played it for like 2 hours and then never again
not really that great

>>8826294
I mean they weren't making it for that particular peripheral. I didn't know about the light gun/controller combo until I looked it up just now though. Imagine if they went ahead and did that and the Dreamcast was also a proto-Wii in addition to the other stuff it was already doing before everybody else.

> Every level is kill literally every enemy on the map. There are hundreds of enemies and the maps are mazes.

The game would be ok if not for this baffling design decision.
