Somebody should correct that Wikipedia article. Nintendo only had one game developer, not many. Those other guys were only puppets for Miyamoto's PSI powers to act through, and they should not be credited at all.

Which in hindsight would have been a more reasonable slogan than "Gotta Catch 'Em All", especially as the Pokemon keep adding up with each new generation. I think we're over 900 now, without counting variations for genders, regions, or gimmicks like Mega Evolutions.

So what was the deal with Nintendo Power anyway? In the early days it seemed like they were directly affiliated with Nintendo of America, and would write in a style making it sounds as though they WERE Nintendo, but in the later issues that kind of died down and it seemed to be less connected to the company.

Why is that chinless goggle man even involved in this junk food pitch? If his lines were delivered by an anonymous narrator in generic Keebler advertising voice, then absolutely nothing of value would be lost. Also, I still don't like random food ads in Nintendo Power. (But maybe they are better than the gross-out Play It Loud crap that we seem to have left behind at last. Not that the one thing actually replaced the other.)

At least for now, they're only for when it's an actual Nintendo-endorsed ad. Once Ocarina of Time is released, you'll start seeing third-party ads all over, starting with those gay ads for real ocarinas.

I never realized this but does anyone feel like the images in these magazines such as these make the game look better than they actually do?
Were they just pros at picking the right images?
