I really really enjoyed Shatterhand, a fun side scroller with changing weapon mechanics.

Fire N Ice, King Kong 2, and Yume Penguin Monogatari are good. There's some newer games like the Deadpool game, Gaplus, and Pac-Man Championship Edition that are worth checking out.

I beat the game by getting Mothra killed off in the first level of each field and then doing everything with Godzilla.

The Lone Ranger is probably my favorite game that no one knows about. It's a top down/side scroller hybrid that's open world and set in the Wild West. Had a lot of fun with it as a kid.
