For a game that looks this great the actual gameplay part is surprisingly bad.

it's a point and click visual novel, not sure what you were expecting

the shooting segments, I heard, were added in after-the-fact and not part of the original release

What gets me about it is you need a strategy guide to progress and can't just intuit your way through it because there are retarded steps like
>check the body
>check the body a second time
where the event triggers won't go off unless you know to do the same stupid menu option out of twenty different things you could wrongly click on under each submenu instead.

It’s not long, and the story is entertaining. Try to stick with it, it’s worth it.

Heh, by the time I played Snatcher I'd already played a number of games with that system so hitting every command over and over just seemed normal, but I can see it feeling weird the first time
I've never liked that design much
It's a weird in-between thing that's got the interface of a command-driven adventure like Maniac Mansion but is really just a novel with busywork to advance the story

I think graphic adventures are the best genre for the type of Stories Kojima likes to tell.

It’s not a visual novel, it’s a menu-driven detective adventure game. And it’s fine for what it needs to do.

>Sega CD.

This version was made specifically for English markets, as it was released in NA and PAL regions. But it never got a Japanese release on the Mega CD. The Japanese got the PC-CDROM version of the game. The Sega CD version is a port of the PCE version, but they actually made quite a few changes. The Sega CD game does have additional light gun sections, and a longer third act. It has a modified script. Some censorship in sexual content, but in some ways the Sega CD game is a little gorier. The Snatchers were altered to look less like Terminators in the Sega CD version. Some of the art was actually redrawn for the Sega CD game. Sega CD game has a longer ending. Because Japan didn't get the Mega CD version of the game, most of the alterations/ additions of the Sega/ Mega CD version was added to the Sega Saturn and Playstation Japanese only ports.

Snatcher was included with the TG-16/PCE classic console, but it is in Japanese only. I think it does have a few minor art changes made by M2. But is the PCE game. It's a shame Konami would never release the Sega/ Mega CD version again, even digitally.

I love it when you know the answer to Kathrine Gibson's questions without ever looking it up on JORDAN. Metal Gear will act shocked that you knew them.
