It made the game annoying, especially for small children. I've seen reviews claiming this was just following trends in popular racing games at the time, but was a bad inclusion. I installed it for my kid and saw same issue. Switched to racers 1 and now they have fun with it

The GeForce 4 - 5 lines were out when I bought the thing, and the GeForce 2 was regulated as a 'budget' gamer cards'. The GeForce 4MX's are enhanced GeForce 2's with better memory management. Drakan, Rollcage and the sampler disc in my image all came with a Chaintech GeForce 2 bundle.

>damn rollcage needed a geforce 2 to run?

According to the back of the original game box,
> Minimum Requirements:
Pentium 166MHZ
16MB RAM
4MB compatible D3D card with DX6 (though, I thought this game has software rendering?)
> Recommended:
Pentium III: 233MHz
32MB RAM
8MB compatible D3D card with DX6
The Geforce 2 came with 64MB on onboard RAM and could do DX7. This was the type of game you could display at 1024x768/ 1280x1024 at max framerate (i think it is capped at 30fps) and it would wow you.

And I want to add that, when Nvidia released the GeForce 4, they had two different lines. The main one was the GeForce Ti, which are DX8 cards, and for their time 'new' architecture. Then they released the GeForce 4MX cards, which was actually a DX7 GeForce 2 with an updated memory controller and maybe a smaller fabrication process? The MX line was for the lower end market. But it also killed the value of the GeForce 2 line and made then cheaper to pick up.
