Bionic Commando is honestly the best NES game. Its definitely my favorite NES game. It dared to not have a jump button in a time when almost all other platformers had jumping.

So what is your favorite platformer?

I beat a fair share of games as a kid, but this game legitimately got so difficult near the end that as a kid, I genuinely felt like a bad ass when I finally beat it.

It isn't really that difficult now, a good hour and a half sit down if I want to take my time, but I go back to this game, and use different weapons each playthrough to make it more challenging and/or fun.

The timing on hitting Hitler is pretty tight actually. I think the first time I beat it I got it maybe my first try or two but then the second time I beat it took me a good few tries to nail it. Is difficult but very fun. The grappling and lack of jump added so much to the game imo. It was good that Rearmed decided to keep that concept intact Rearmed 2 though did include a jump button but I never beat that game. It just didn't seem as appealing to me idk.

My favourite platformers on NES must be Chip'n'Dales, Duck Tales 2 and Tiny Toons Adventures. They're not objectively the best but they're my childhood favourites.

With that said Bionic Commando isn't stricly speaking a platformer, I still need to beat it though
