Why did they ruin the palm trees in Sonic 3?

excuse me for posting this since its not-retro and its from an MMO, but in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion for WoW, the one troll dungeon had a platform where you could look down and see a giant-ass, long ass tail of a snake like thing that stretched off far into the distance and as far as im aware, none of the ass tons of lore either in-game or in some book or comic shit, ever explained what the fuck it was suppose to be.

In Lands of Lore 2 deep in the Dracoid Ruins there's a large underground lake, and on the opposite side from the stream pouring into it is a torch with seemingly some other objects/items nearby. It looks like a secret area, and there's an old bridge that the player can collapse and ride down the stream into the lake like a raft, but then it starts to sink and the player is eaten by a lake serpent. I've always wondered if there is a way to the other end, or perhaps if there was one planned that got cut.

The rule change happened a while back. There were outright battles all across the board for months after. To be fair there was a year between the release of the Dreamcast and the release of the PS2, Dreamcast's been fine on /vr/ for years now so it makes sense the entire 6th gen would make the transition.

In the Harvest Moon GBA game, the one with the sprites, I once got a cut scene about getting a fuckheug turnip, onion, or radish. Only happened once. Couldn't ever find an explanation or replicate it. Not listed on gamefaqs or ushi no tane. Mystery to this day.
