Playing DC games with a 360 controller imparts the same sense of comfy.

Although I wish the Wingman SD had a VMU port like the Total Control 3.

>It's literally worse than dualshock 1 and 2.
Very true. Dualshock 1 and 2 are the best controllers. Sony shouldn't have fucked with perfection. I've spent so much time with PS2 controllers in my hands that even the difference in weight of a dualshock 3 feels awful to me. Also fuck the home button.

>>8677953
The L2+R2 buttons shouldn't do that, it feels wrong.

And? You want it to weight as much as the duke?
>fragile
The fuck are you doing with yours? Both of mine that came with the console are still working fine after 10+ years of use and even a few accidental drops.
>feels like shit
Subjective and vague.
I'll give you real negatives about it: The triggers could've been concave instead of convex. The analog material gets sticky over time and will eventually rupture, spinning around on the analog plastic like a wheel. The stick itself will also be chipped away from being scraped against the edges of the analog well. This problem, however, is present in previous dualshock controllers too so it's a universal problem.
It has a better d-pad than the DS2, the triggers don't get stuck into the wells like the DS2, and it can pair up with any bluetooth dongle along with the proper drivers.

I want it to feel like a $50 piece of equipment. A brand new DS3 feels like shit right out of the box.
See, the Dualshock 1 was perfect for PS1 and the 2 for PS2, but something about the kinds of games I played on PS3 (shooters and open world games that rely heavily on the convex analog sticks and make frequent use of the convex triggers) made me realize that the Dualshock 3 was not well-equipped for PS3 games. I know I'm in the majority when I say that, outside of the dpad, the 360 controller trounced the Dualshock 3. Sony fixed everything with the Dualshock 4 though.
And call me crazy but I liked the analog buttons of the DS2.

>I want it to feel like a $50 piece of equipment.
A $50 piece of equipment from 2006 will probably have better designed internals than a $50 piece of equipment from 1999. That's how technology improves, anon. but I'm holding my legit DS2 and DS3 controllers in my hands right now and they weight about the same to me. Are you sure you weren't fooled by the cable on the DS2 adding to the weight?
>the 360 controller trounced the Dualshock 3
Not with those AA battery packs and clicky face buttons it didn't.
The DS3 isn't the perfect design that title goes to the SCPH-1180 but it's far from being worse than its predecessors. If it had concave analogs/triggers and alternative buttons to R3/L3 it'd be even better. If the DS4 didn't have useless zoomer shit like touchpads, microphones, share buttons and that obnoxious lightbar it'd be the undisputed king, but sadly it isn't.

There's no microphone in the Dualshock 4. So you care about the looks or something? Because none of this affects usage. You can't see the word "share" or the light bar when you're looking at a TV. I do feel comfy analog sticks, proper triggers though, and an improved dpad though.
To each their own, but I own one Dualshock 3 and I would never buy another one when DS4 exists.

I care about the waste of battery power and space that could've been used for more buttons, or at the very least less components that you don't need, and will probably break down sooner than the actual buttons. I do agree that it has a grean d-pad though.

People act like a bunch of snobs like not playing with the original controller is some kind of transgression, but I'm glad that this company keeps making stuff like this. I needed a PS3 controller and found that it was impossible to find a new one that wasn't counterfeit a normal price. I ended up buying the brook adapter and overall it was pretty great, but it had problems with Star Ocean for some reason. Really I just wish that these stupid ass console manufacturers would stop making everything proprietary. That dongle looks too "smart". I wish it were just a BLE to USB gamepad translator or something. I would use that under Linux, too, and maybe it could be plugged into the Brooks adapter.

I just (yesterday) GDEMUed my original dreamcast finally. My original controllers, which I never mistreated, feel awful. I have one of the series X controllers and wish I could use it wirelessly. I also have the PS5 controller but I want the button labels to match (and the PS5 controller is already paired to the PS2 adapter).

I ordered a 15 foot USB-A to USB-C cable instead. Have to tell dogs and kids not to trip over it.
