Killer Instinct 2's plot never really made sense to me.

I get "plot in a fighting game?" but its one of those things I've always liked.

What really captured boys' hearts about Maya was her integrity.

I agree OP, though Orchid became much hotter than before as of Killer Instinct 2. They are both very hot. Their faces are kinda weird, but not weird enough to stop them being hot.

Kim Wu is just okay. She'll do in a pinch.

I don't know a lot about the new designs since I haven't played that game. I guess they made Kim Wu all Asia-y, which is probably a downgrade but it certainly gives her more distinctiveness which is a good thing. Orchid appears to be highly attractive even though she lost her exaggerated curves. I don't know what to think of Maya. I guess she's super pretty but the dreadlocks put me off a bit, and of course they hid that monumental sideboob from the old design.

Absolutely. Never cared for Orchid but I'm not a KI player, I just know the characters from seeing them in Nintendo Power. But Maya always seemed the coolest. And I love anyone who fights with knives.

I think that anon was referring to KI2's redesigned Orchid and the rest, not to the more recent game's redesigns. I don't know why you'd call Maya ugly and not Orchid though, since they have the same face. Personally I think they (in KI2) both have weird faces and weird bodies but are still both pretty and sexy.

Rare's artists just seemed to have some strange ideas about how people should look. Jago, for example, has always had an uncanny torso and neck. And of course Orchid's early-3D hourglass figure was somewhat inhuman, and not entirely in the good way.

Sometimes if a character's official artwork is too sexy people don't feel the need to make fanart of her. It needs to be titillating but not too much, just enough to make someone want to make artwork that goes a step further. If its already there then whats the point?

I love the new female characters in KI2, but for me, it'll always be Black Orchid.
