>fixed fog emulation in 64 Zelda games
>less Input Lag on every game

it's getting there

Did someone figure out a way to play other games that aren't part of the official library using their emulator?

There are better options, bro. Don’t do this to yourself.

Yeah, you can inject games to the app if you have a hacked Switch.

I know. I'm not going to sign up for it.
It's just something that would make the nso n64 emulator another option, which is a good thing since it's very unlikely that they intend to license most games for it.

It is totally fine though. I won't pay for it but the truth is it is good enough. Better than getting an N64 and some shitty CRT.

>> No.8663351

Android TV emulators are better and you don't even need a console to play them, it's installed directly on your TV.
Even chinese android portables have better emulation to play on the go if that's your thing.

>> No.8663359

>>8663292
it is still pretty remarkable that unpaid developers working on a black box n64 can end up with better results than the people who built the thing and know everything there is to know about it. i assume they're just cheaping out and going with what's "good enough" -- which, to be fair, is what will make them the most money.
people playing roms on their switch arent going to care about inaccuracy, if they cared they would already be using a better emulator

Still a scam and I'm never going to care until we can buy the games individually, and tie them to an evergreen account that will transfer up to newer consoles without a fee. Until then I'll stick to real hardware.

>> No.8664213

>>8663239
That's never worked well, part of the reason why the games are poorly emulated but are getting better with patches over time is that each game needs its own bespoke optimization changes to the emulator.
Launch day n64 online is literally what you get when you just take the n64 emulator they made for Mario 3D All Stars and dump all the roms into it.

>> No.8664253

>>8663373
The opposite of this happens 99 percent of the time, consoomer newfaggot. It’s also still emulation, these aren’t sourceports.
This was the case in the early-mid 2000’s but definitely not anymore.
There is absolutely zero reason to pay for “official” emulations when autists have been coding quality emulators for decades now.
Sony shipped their shit mini-console with PCSX-ReArmed from 2003 lol. There’s your “official, better than community” emulation.
If you think Nintendo’s boxed in, barebones, and unconfigurable emulator is better than what giga-autists have produced, then you are blinded by brand loyalty.

What's weird is that Nintendo did the Majora update a day before the actual scheduled release and their social networks/YouTube channel haven't said a thing about it (they were doing a countdown before the release too), they haven't announced the next game for March either so I wonder if someone at Nintendo fucked up or something.

What's the alternative?
>PC
My PC isn't portable and I like to play my Switch in the living room
>Hacking
Not every Switch is available to be hacked and chinks markup modchips like fucking crazy
>Phones
Touch screen controls are garbage and don't get me started with shitty clip on controllers
>Chinkshit devices
All have fucking awful screens, still running at 480p, have multiple month waiting lists and literally 0 support if something breaks
I'm not defending Nintendo at all, their prices are fucking terrible and the service isn't offering much but there's no real alternative if you want to play N64 portably. I'd get a Steam Deck but it's bulkier than the fucking which which is an achievement and again, has a waitlist of months or some and a waitlist of "whenever" since they're not being sold to my country.
Meanwhile I just jumped on the Family Plan with a few friends, got it for cheaper and it has the bonus of having the Mario Kart DLC for "free" which has already saved more than I would have gotten by buying DLC anyway.

I doubt whatever B team is assigned to the Switch n64 emulator actually worked on the N64, no way they've been at the company long enough. At best Nintendo still had some coffee stained documentation scribbled down on shitty handwriting in a physical filing cabinet somewhere.

Not him, but depending on the setup for your TV, there are lots of reasons why it might not be quite that simple for a lot of anons:
>Do they use their PC for work
>Can they afford separate work/gaming rigs
>Can their living space accommodate an entertainment cabinet big enough for all of their consoles and a PC tower
>Are all of those things able to be ventilated enough to protect the equipment
>Where do you put the keyboards/mousepad in a living room
>Do you have a wired keyboard and mouse long enough to reach where you sit, and do you leave them and their cords out all the time
>If you have a wireless setup, does this generate input lag noticeable for the type of games you are playing
>Who else uses the living room, and how much will they judge your setup and/or hog the TV when you want to play PC games
>For the switch specifically, if you want to play a game which you could play on that OR PC, and you’d put your PC in the living room but want to be in ANOTHER place without a TV, you’re back to the same problem
>For other consoles, you can upgrade your PC enough to stay ahead of the then-current console market’s sound/graphics/processing speed if you’re willing to pump in the dosh for it, but if you want to play console exclusives which aren’t yet available/playable on PC, you’ll have spent the money you would have used on upgrades on that console and games, so guess which one gets priority in the living room
>If you do want to go whole-hog on your PC, you might also want to do a multi-monitor setup, so you’re back to keeping it on a desk setup
>If you live with a partner or roommate who also plays PC games and you like to play together locally, you either put one in the living room and defeat the purpose, or both of you play in a room with two desks
Not all living arrangements are created equal, anon.
