Used to run through the game every other day, clearing the required amount of challenges to unlock the next stage in a single run. Such a comfy game structure if you know what you're doing. Shame Underground had to come and just take all the momentum and pacing out of it to tell mediocre stories.

It requires complete focus, doing a run of Alien Soldier is basically like time traveling 40 minutes into the future, there are no breaks, it's non-stop action all the way through. And then you do it all over again to do it better.

this reminds me of a dream I had two nights ago wherein my father was playing a version of tetris in my room, but it involved lines of glass triangles you pissed into to make a line. The bottom fell out like connect-4 and the piss went everywhere.

Not released in the US except on Sega Channel. Released in 1995 near the end of the Mega Drive's life. Also a very hardcore game which I've found out recently doesn't have as much mass appeal as I would like. I think it's one of the best games ever made, you should play it and eventually try to 1cc it.

oh and also, the controls take a little bit to get used to but they feel amazing after you do. just remember, your dash has full iframes and the counter force restores health, and with full health you can do a phoenix dash for massive damage. Use ALL your tools and try to recover all your health between bosses.
