Are there any N64 replacement sticks out there that aren't complete dogshit? I tried playing Rogue Squadron with pic related and it's pretty much unplayable.

dont know how we still have these threads every other week or so, get the kitsch bent parts when they're on sale, instant like $3~ replacement stick about the same as the original and lasts longer. Only other "option" is steelsticks but i'd imagine youre not autistic and retarded enough both to pay that much.

*on sale as in for sale, they sell out apparently "quick" according to some people that can't handle keeping an eye out.

not OP, but I've been looking to replace the worn-out parts in my n64 sticks. Looking at kitsch, only issue is that I want a stick with the same gray plastic as the original, not a clear plastic replacement.
That said, isn't it really just the bowl and gears that need to be replaced? I can just use the original sticks, right?

all of it, dont know anyone that produces gray. Have NO idea why kitsch doesnt sell gray by default, youd think those would sell even faster. Sorry. At least the glowie ones are pretty rad.

oh well, I'll just stick with my blown-out sticks then. I hate the trend of replacement parts all being gaudy clear plastic. I want replacement parts that look as close to the originals as humanly possible

Just buy a good condition OEM controller, and then a third party controller or an adapter from raphnet. Use the adapter or third party whenever you can, and only use the OEM controller when you need to

>> No.8628426

Has anyone used those all metal bowl/stick replacements? They seem super overpriced but I'm still a bit curious.

I've just been using the Tribute64 controllers, they're pretty good for what they are.

You see the same sort of shit with replacement shells too. Like, if I want a replacement shell, it's because my console's plastic is yellowed, brittle, cracked, etc. I just want it looking crisp again, not looking like one of those fruity "funtastic" ugly consoles

honestly probably comes down to some sketchy copyright thing, otherwise i'd imagine the chinese would've recreated the snes plastic shells decades ago. That and the wii, i noticed those shells are very common yet like you said, fruity too.

Kitsch bent is shit, went over this a few times in other threads, you can't even reach full running speed in a number of games with kitsch bent parts. There over 20 degrees off from the original benchmarks, even shitty third party controllers like the sharkpad have better benchmarks

Just restored a N64. Cotroller is 3rd party, at least 20 years old.
Stick is stiff af, makes it almost impossible to play with any precision.
I'm not experienced enough to know if this is normal and I'm just spoiled by modern controllers or whether stick is faulty or needs maintenance.

Just get yourself a tribute 64 wireless.
emphasis on the WIRELESS version.
It has the most accurate stick out of the modern controllers.
If you want something thats better than the original and literally NO one recommends because they're stupid, get pic related.

I cant belive peple shit talk these controllers.
The superpads use the same analog stick.
The makopad/superpad with 2 sides also use the same potentiometers but they have diferent gates.

This thing? I have one of these. It's not half bad. Got it because I heard the stick had metal parts, and would therefore probably outlast any official controllers I have. Stick doesn't feel exactly the same as the stock one in terms of sensitivity. It's jerkier, which is better for certain games which feel overly floaty on the official pad like Castlevania 64, but not the best way to play something like Starfox.

I have a corded Tribute and assuming both control sticks are the same, just be aware it'll be a bit more sensitive/loose than other control sticks--not flopping around loose, just not a lot of resistance when pushing it, unless that's not a problem for you.
