I know I'm probably late to the party here but damn this game oozes charm. I just started playing it and I'm being repeatedly blown away. I'm really having a difficult time putting into words what this game does that's so unique, but I have a feeling if you've played it before you know what I'm talking about.

Are there any other platformers as good as this in terms of level design and visuals?

There's a spiritual/semi-sequel type thing on Game Boy, Trip World. Similar style with cutesy enemies and levels. Really easy up until the final boss, which I found pretty hard, but it's worth a play.

Difficulty curve on Trip World is like running into a brick wall. Realistically, you can run through every level in less than a few minutes, spare a couple tricky-ish boss fights. But the final is a pain in the prostate
