What were your favorite educational retro games?
Or, what games have you learned from (or made you want to learn) the most?

Pic related: 3D Dinosaur Adventure for DOS. This was one of several 3D games of a collection, including things like 3D Undersea Adventure, 3D Body Adventure, and others (3D because there was often a segment where you could wear 3D glasses to watch a video).

One of the most memorable parts from this game was a video where you were shown the details of a T-Rex, starting from its bare skeleton, then muscles and flesh would be placed on it. Once the dinosaur was "alive", it would start running so you could see how these creatures moved. Eventually, it chased the camera, snapping at the audience.

Opera Fatal. It was a pretty good adventure game with a great atmosphere, a bit creepy at times, and it involved learning new stuff about music.

The Illusion of Gaia (or The Illusion of Time if you're from Europe). This isn't an educational game, but there are a lot of historical places in this one, including Angkor Wat, the Great Pyramid, and the Tower of Babel. I'm throwing in this one because I remember seeing these places in the game and destroying monsters in each, so whenever they did come up in class, I'd naturally be interested to find out more.

This thread is incredibly relevant to my interests.
I have a son and he's turning 5 this year. I recently obtained some old computers from the mid 90s and I'm going to set him up with some good educational games of yesteryear.
He's gonna be stuck with a computer with DOS on it, possibly windows 3.1.

Once he's a little older I'm gonna release him on the Zork games and other old adventure games but he's still learning how to read right now so they'd be a bit much.

Thank you for the suggestions. Someone should really make a recommended list for these type of games.
