Post /vr/ games with weird gimmicks.

This game was voice controlled with the PS2 mic. I think it was QTE based. (Anybody know if it played like shit?)

Allegedly the original Japanese version plays way better. No I don't have a citation or source of this you're gonna have to take my word and if you can't well then fuck off back to /v/ cause I ain't got time to deal with little twerps who don't trust me.

It's really finicky to control because even if you pronounce things very clearly, the game will only recognize certain words for certain items/actions. It can quickly become frustrating when you know what you want the character to do, but for some reason, the mic just isn't hearing you right.

It's an interesting idea though. In a way, the voice system is basically just an old school text adventure, but with a microphone.

Is it true if you pronounced the words like a Japanese person speaking english, that the game actually responds more accurately?

>> No.8593208

>>8593025
I could believe it. The game is very specific about what words it will accept, so I imagine the translation from Japanese to English could complicate things.

people meme on lifeline but its not a bad game. decent graphics, interesting story and combination of survival horror with romance/dialogue options elements, etc. only thing that kept it obscure and meme tier is the voice command. interesting ideas filter normies

kek yeah, they were planning a co-op mode where the second player would assist by banging on the drums to boost the morale of the troops, but they didn't have time to implement it before release.

Mad Maestro: the rhythm game with 32 inputs as light, medium, and hard presses are all separate inputs.

Can't ignore the synesthesia games: Rez and Lumines. Rez came with a special rumble controller to help you feel the beat. Lumines is more standard but used graphics to try to get you to feel music. Xbox 360 remaster has rumble optional if memory serves.

>How does it play in VR, anyway?
Its transcendent. I like zoning out in it, just barely flicking my wrist around to highlight the enemies. I put a bunch of controllers around me in soft pouches so that they'll vibrate to the music, and since I've played the game so many times, I basically mastered the timing on each of the levels so that the music syncs up with my actions. I've reached peaks of synesthesia a few times, but I wonder how much picrel would enhance that experience.

I love it when she gets excited like when the player finally manages to guess the word "molotov cocktail" in the infirmary. She demands you start naming off items found in an infirmary, and the build up made me swell. Her behavior is so air-headed and inquisitive, and suddenly she excitedly yelps out; "That's IT, operator! We'll find some alcohol and make a molotov cocktail!!" Hearing her say "cock" was a little too much for me. Also, this is the same part of the game where you can switch the computer in the infirmary on and get the command "sexy pose."

I played and beat it back in the day...
It was an adventure game for the most part, though there were a few QTE scenes.

I only really got stuck twice, once because I had to look up the exact word it wanted, and the other time because of adventure game logic.

The voice control I found to actually work fairly well. Though, with the same problems as old adventure games WITH the need to enunciate everything clearly.
