This is what did it. Fuji TV killed the casual US fanbase by removing their main source of episodes to watch. Not everyone downloaded the entire series like us. Now only those into it are still watching, and no one new is getting into it, unless they stop by a GCCX thread here and get interested.

Fansubs started taking forever to come out and fell even more years behind Japan. I eventually stopped bothering to check for new releases since they came out so infrequently.

Is there anything even remotely like this or even good anymore? All we have are boring podcasts with people with no personality reading wikipedia pages or youtube lets plays. Nobody writes or produces any actual content about video games. Who else is going to go to old game centers and stores and explore the history of video games?

I never watched any of this shit as I don't watch western shit either, but that's typically what happens. These console-loyalist streamers & whatnot will scrounge for viewers with something like Metal Gear on NES, but then no one plays the MSX versions. There's still MSX homebrew coming from Japan in small doses, but shit made for the consoles still takes center stage in the majority of cases.

It's kino. Just try to hold your attention span. It's like AVGN but not angry, not a nerd, and not American, instead it's a 40-something television businessman guy who plays games poorly but is really fucking funny (genuine comedy, not poopy buttfarts) and just likeable in personality. Licensing is a bitch, people forget that GCCX has to get a separate license for the DVD version as opposed to the broadcast one.
Also, it shows how casual fans who are critical of the English DVD release don't realize that we got the exact same version as the Japanese one. The only difference is they lowered the volume when Kan spoke for the English Narrator who got an impossible task himself.

Joy Mecha Fight seems like a weird game. It had a megaman vibe and it looks very good for the famicom. Fighting games are so rare on that platform I could have easily mistaken it for PCE/MD/SFC. Using big disjointed characters is a clever trick.
