Crazy Taxi is THE dreamcast game. I have heavy nostaglia for it even though I played it last year for the first time. It is truly that good. Peak soul.
Code Veronika is good. Boss fights are bullshit though, but it's overall still worth your time. Has problems on GDEMU( the chink ones) but there is a workaround.
Gigawing 1&2 are cool shmups that I would recommend.

If you got 3 friends you should play Powerstone 2 and Chu Chu rocket.

I've been burning games to cds for the dreamcast and it's very hit and miss, sometimes they work right away, sometimes you need to reset the console anywhere between 1 and up to dozens of times before the laser decides to read the damn thing. It can be very frustrating

Hey anon, I've been curious about something for a while.
So I have several different ways to play my Dreamcast:
>composite on a CRT (surprisingly good)
>S-video on a CRT (even better)
>VGA on a modern 1080p LCD monitor (the best-looking option).
A CRT monitor via VGA is out of the question, I just don't have the space for one right now.

Do you know if playing on my same 1080p monitor through that HDMI cable offer any benefit over the VGA cable? Besides not requiring separate cords for audio, I am not sure if there would be any visual improvement.

Not sure about other converters, but the Kaico box is a straight VGA to HDMI passthrough, original resolution and all. The picture itself is identical to just VGA alone, so there'd be no point in getting it over your current setup other that streamlining with the AIO Video and Audio as you mentioned.

VGA is the beat you will get. The Kaico cable if okay. But I noticed the picture to be darker. Dreamcast also has has a quirk that it's picture does not conform to certain standards, so while using the kaico cable the aspect ratio will be a bit weird. VGA also does this on many lcd displays, but some can manage. (My the does.)
Also: all modern vga cables I saw online seem to be the same model with a different price tag.
