Looking for some obscure/weird/less discussed PS1/PS2/Gamecube games to check out instead of downloading the same ROMs over and over. Suggestions?

Not really super famous but also not that obscure.
Have you played the Jak games for PS2?

PS1 Games:
>Battle Arena Toshinden 1-3
Fighting games that are interesting for at least one playthrough each. Have a cool 90s aesthetic.

>Bishi Bashi Special 1-3
Kind of like WarioWare for PS1, a bunch of minigames.

>Bushido Blade 1-2
A sword fighting game where you can kill your enemy in one attack with a critical hit. The game also encourages you to fight with the code of honor to get better endings (like not hitting your opponent once they're knocked down).

>Chocobo Racing
An interesting racing game that's a spin-off from Final Fantasy. Has a good sense of speed (fast).

>Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
Like street fighter but with mechas.

>Darkstalkers 1/3
Fighting games with interesting aesthetics.

>Guilty Gear
The first one in the series. Just cool.

>Harmful Park
Beginner-friendly SHMUP with cool aesthetics.

>In the Hunt
Metal Slug but underwater with submarines instead. (Not an easy game though).

>Jumping Flash 1/2
Fun early 3D platformers with excellent verticality. These games look a lot better actually playing them than on YouTube.

>Sexy Parodius
Shmup that's a parody of Gradius (Parodius games are all parodies of Gradius).

Absolute MUST play for PS2. It is easy to forget this one because of how vast the PS2 library is. One of the best 3D platformers of all time. I would argue its only main flaw is sometimes the controls feel a bit stiff but the other 99% of the game makes up for it in every way.

Also, you don't need to play 1 and 2 to know what's going on.

Pilot a giant robot that is intentionally a clunky fuck. That is to say, it has intentionally intricate controls and moves slow. Its even been translated somehow.

Anon...Jak and Daxter were best-sellers. I am not sure how new you are or if you just weren't paying that much attention at the time, but Jak & Daxter and Jak 2 were killer apps on release, and received critical acclaim. While Jak 3 to a lesser extent and the spinoff games were received with more lukewarm reception, they remain classics to this day.

Panzer Front and its sequel Panzer Front Ausf.B are neat simcades.
The first one is best played on the Dreamcast with the widescreen and unlock framerate patches. If you want a game with more content, find the English beta of Panzer Front Bis on the archive.
The sequel on the PS2 improves the game tenfold but is internally locked at 10fps for some reason. If an anon want to make a 30/60fps for this one, be my guest

I haven't finished it yet but so far it's light on dialog and story and more about exploring the environment. However, you can show items you find to the professor who's along for the ride and he'll give you his thoughts on them. Not being able to understand those descriptions could complicate things but you might still make it through.

looking for a ps1 game involving japanese office characters, it had a 2d sprite over 3d background aesthetic and you had to clock in every morning with a rhythm minigame to simulate the paperwork

there was a weird subplot involving repenting for embezzlement and your boss putting you through trepanation surgery which you slowly went insane with as the rhythm games got more intense
