Kind of amusing. I brought this up recently, wondering when the fuck the HD version was gonna get more news.
As soon as I checked google shortly after that, it had updated in roughly the past hour. Crazy shit.

I'm sort of a fan of Team17, but this looks like a mediocre Mario clone. Is there anything that makes it really unique, or is it not worth playing for people who aren't die-hard platformer fanatics?

You folks never heard of Superfrog? Seriously? It's considered one of Team17's best games, along with the Worms series and Alien Breed. Agreed, the graphics aren't top notch, but the gameplay really made up for it.

Although personally, if we're discussing underrated platforms I'd much sooner put James Pond 2 next to Mario or Sonic.

I had an Amiga and this game. It was breddy good and the animation was great, but it can't really hold a candle to Mario and Sonic, platformers were the consoles element - strategy, RPG and simulation were the Amiga's.

I prefer Ristar over Sonic. Mario is a really fine platformer preferably the first super mario bros. and Super mario world.
