In the first Tomb Raider, there are those centaur monster statues. You just KNOW they're going to come to life and attack you as you go into the temple, then they just don't. They attack you as you're leaving.

Rouge winking when you go into first person in Sonic Heroes rattled me. I like looking at characters in first person in my games. They don't tend to react and when one finally does and also moves in such a weird robotic way to do it, it makes me think my game is haunted and makes me turn it off immediately.
