I felt the same way about some of the SNES MK1 finishing moves. The Genesis may have had blood (with a code), but it was shit for sound effects. The SNES kept the blood-curdling screams and added some rather shocking stuff like Raiden's disintegration move.

Both versions were absolute shit. I really hated having no voices and terrible sound on the Genesis. Sega actually gave us extra blood: the blood shooting out of our ears from the tin can music and sound effects.

The SNES version had the censorship and bad mechanics, but it definitely had better sound quality. Some of the finishing moves were actually scarier on the SNES.
