Compile hardly had any money. You know most of their titles were on discs they sold with their magazine? They never made squat so they couldn't survive the awful transition to 3D jap companies went through. Most of the staff moved on to work for Idea Factory after the Japanese Videogame Crash of 2002.
>>8503395
Yeah either that or companies went soul-less after 2002. It's funny because Japanese government noticed it too, and started a propaganda arm to bolster the entertainment industry called "Cool Japan".

I played some Idea Factory games like Neptunia and such, some were fun but none was nothing like they were in the old days. Look at how charming and detailed the animation is in the op, now with 20 years of improved technology they went with static artwork with lip movement, what the hell. They can't even compete with an snes game

Yeah it's true they lost all soul, but they still care, imo. Same they lost the entire Puyo/Madou license to Sega, I think with the extra income from that they could have improved their catalog. You knwo the only game that plays like they use to is Fairy Fencer F. It's like Demon Force or Geo Conflict which were their main JRPG series that wasn't Puyo related.

I wish it would display your stats some way other than some cutesy text. I mean it's cute and all but I probably missed the last few levels in the game because of that (Madou Monogatari games have a "highest level" you can achieve which have a different description and depending on game gives you normal access to your most powerful spell that normally you can only use every once in a while; but it's like getting up to level 99 when the game normally finishes around level ~50).

Agree. Even Konami mostly stopped doing those colorful comedy games they were famous for too with the enter of the new millenium. That artstyle didn't fit well with the new 3D graphics and the move towards realism, although there were some little nuggets here and there like Konami Krazy Racers or Kororinpa.

They still make Madou games, sorta. They are re-releasing MM1-2-3 and they made Sei Madou Monogatari for the Vita, it was even localized as Sorcery Saga. It's a remake/spiritual sequel to Waku Puyo Dungeon.
Since they don't exactly have the rights to the Madou Monogatari characters, they made the entire crew become expys. You have a young girl who loves curry and has a pokemon-like familiar, a dark swordsman rumoured to be a pervert, etc.

No. Pretty typical/boring childhood. I guess a lot of my friends were/are really dumb but somehow that never bothered me. Some kind of bias I guess.

>it's not their fault
I know being ignorant isn't their fault since they haven't had the time to learn yet, but it doesn't change the fact I get progressively more frustrated when I see it on display. In this case, like what the other anon is replying to. People talking out of their ass / fabricating lies for no real reason.

>I have three girls and I love them more than anything
I should have clarified that I'm not annoyed by children in general, just the bad ones. Which is most of them.
I envy the tolerance/patient/understanding other people have with kids though. Despite working at a daycare for years I still don't share that trait, and would rather be better about it myself. Maybe eventually. As-is I can be the same source of frustration for the same reasons to my own seniors.
