Why does this game cost close to 100$?

Is it even a good game?

The game's a fucking marvel for the N64. Graphics, somewhat tight control, and the direction Rare took instead of what Conker used to be, makes this game good, for me anyway...

Makes me wonder how the devs fit all those voice lines in that cartridge. It was 128MB if I remember, which actually seems about right.

>> No.849206

Didn't sell that great (adult rating, timing of release) so there isn't a ton of them floating around. And yes, it's a good game.

You can blame the Game Grumps for that.

>> No.849234

>>849201
No, it was 64MB. The biggest available N64 cartridge.

The game has slightly over 2 hours of voice acting in it. I dunno how much of the cartridge was used for this purpose.

Technologically, the game is peerless.

Yes, it is an excellent game, the single player game is outstanding gameplay with excellent story and presentation as well and the multiplayer is hours upon hours of great times with your friends, even though I prefer the AKI wrestling games it is easily in the argument for best game on the system

I don't know why it would cost $100 dollars though, I haven't collected games in over a decade, I often think y'all are joking when discussing prices of games nowadays

Some of the devs are doing a directors' commentary on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFP9r6vJL2qCCERMBP_ZWUEV0vaSL4rHf

Has lots of insight and plenty of British humour, i.e. lot's of getting drunk, giving each other horrible nicknames and calling people cunts.

Lot of good stuff in there, particularly about attention to detail, like making sure Conker had a pushing against a wall animation, giving him water wings to explain him not being able to dive underwater, anti-gravity chocolate(hence it floating), all kinds of stuff about giving this crazy cartoon world internal consistency.

Also, just looked at the prices for this on britbong eBay, £40 for just the cart, £200 for the complete package. Jesus wept, what a bunch of cunts. What's a better solution, getting an N64 flashcart or trying to plug this into an emulator on the Wii?

Hipsters, and it's uncommon since it was made near the end of the N64 life cycle. Also everyone wants it.

MOST of the humor stands up even till today. The gameplay is also really solid. And the graphics + OST are great as well.

the controls and camera were changed somewhat, which threw me off a bit but it's not too bad. microsoft made them censor a lot more lines than the original though which really does get real annoying, and the various original multiplayer modes were all thrown out and replaced with a shitty 3rd person team fortress clone. not cool

no, but people that haven't metally aged since they were 12 think it is because of the "mature" humor (read gross out and bathroom humor)

it's mostly only notable for being somewhat offensive in a time where there weren't many offensive games

That kind of ending isn't expected from a 3d platformer about cartoon animals. The fact that it surprised a lot of players made it stick out in peoples' minds, and thus made it more notable.

I've seen second-hand markets for soda, and I just don't get it. I mean, just because I have an unopened bottle of Canadian Coke Blak in my fridge doesn't mean it's worth anything.

On-topic, the main reason games are valuable is because not many copies exist, usually due to low print run or (in extremely special cases) the item only being a giveaway or similar item.

The second reason is simply because of known quality. Games like Mario 64 will sometimes sell for much more than its worth, simply because it's a good game. Forget that there are literally millions of carts for it.

Danny is too competent for Game Grumps. I am of the opinion that, while being Naughty Bear-level incompetent is very bad and they should be making some progress and not completely goofing around the whole ten minutes, they shouldn't just breeze through the game. They need to get frustrated to be Grumps.

I don't think Danny is automatically a terribad Grump yet, since he's mentioned that the games they've played so far are two of the five or so games he's good at and he hasn't played any bad games yet, but it's not the best start.
